Leute, Leute – LOL. Also jetzt mal ernsthaft – diese Woche geht es bei Emily um Leute die man getroffen hat. Eigentlich um neue Leute, aber weil ich diese Woche Menschen gesehen habe, die ich seit vielen Jahren nicht gesehen habe – das liegt ja oft in der Natur von Beerdigungen – werde ich einfach meine Familie und Freunde auf der Karte verewigen. Ich bin aber noch nicht fertig.
Peeps, peeps – LOL. No seriously – this week Emily challenges us to create a card about the people we met. In fact about new peeps, but as I met people this week I haven’t seen for ages – sadly enough this is the nature of funerals – I will create the card about the family members and friends I met this week. I’m not done yet.
Die Karte besteht aus Fotopapier, welches mit Reinkern bearbeitet wurde- eine schöne Technik, die Liz uns in ihrem Workshop gezeigt hat.
This card is made with photo paper, which was treated with reinkers – an awesome technique which was shown to us by Liz at her Workshop.
Daphne und ich haben diesmal wieder eine sehr einfache Technik herausgesucht. Die Reiß-das-Tape-in-Fetzen-Technik ;-)
Daphne and I picked a very easy technique this week. The Layered Masking Tape Technique.
Was man baucht: Krepp-Band, Cardstock, ModPodge/GelMedium und Acrylfarbe – evtl. ein Küchentuch.
What you will need: Masking Tape, Cardstock, ModPodge/GeldMedium, acrylic paint and optinal a paper towel.
Zunächst reisst man lauter kleine Streifen von der Rolle Malerkrepp ab und verklebt damit kreuz und quer den Cardstock.
First of all you take small stripes of masking tape and apply it criss cross on cardstock.
Als nächstes versiegelt man die Oberfäche mit Serviettenkleber/ModPodge/GelMedium und läßt das ganze trocknen.
Afterwards you seal the surface with ModPodge/GelMedium and let it dry.
Nach dem Trocknen eine Schicht Acrylfarbe auftragen.
Falls die Farbe zu dick aufgetragen wurde und man die Unebenheiten nicht mehr erkennen kann- einfach mit einem Papiertuch wieder ein Farbe abnehmen.
If the color is too thick and you can’t see the uneveness – take away some paint with a paper color.
Ich finde das Ergebnis ganz cool. Bin mal gespannt was Daphne so gemacht hat ;-)

Im Monat April bin ich Gastdesignerin bei Beyond Appearances und mußte mir daher auch ein Thema für eine Challenge ausdenken. Mein Thema ist etwas traurig – “Ich vermisse…” Zu dem Zeitpunkt, als ich mir Gedanken über ein Challengethema machen mußte, dachte ich an meinen (Stief)-Vater, der im März 9 Jahre verstorben ist. Warum nicht auch mal ein Layout darüber machen was oder wen man vermisst.
I’m guest designer for Beyond Appearances and I had to think of a challenge for this month. My challenge is a bit sad “I miss…” At the time I thought about a challenge I thought about my (step)-father who passed away 9 years ago. So why not make a layout about someone or something you miss.

Gerade der letzte Punkt, meines Journalings hat sich mir so verinnerlicht, daß ich einem geliebten Menschen letzte Woche gesagt habe, wie viel er mir bedeutet – einen Tag bevor er am letzten Dienstag starb. Ich bin glücklich, daß dieses Layout mich zum Nachdenken gebracht hat.
The last point of my journaling soaked so much into that I just told a very beloved person last week how much I care for him – just in time, one day before he died on tuesday. I’m happy that this layout made me do this.

Das sind meine Schwiegereltern bei unserer Hochzeit in Deutschland. Dieser Tag war gleichzeitig ihr 47. Hochzeitstag.
My parents in law on our wedding day in Germany. This day had been also their 47th anniversary. The journaling reads: After all those years – there are still those gestures that amaze me. I love this and I hope we will do this too when we are as long together as you are.
Ich habe zwei der C-Buchstaben von Lil Davis als Rahmen für das JOurnaling verwendet.
I used two of the C’s from the Lil Davis Letters in the Kit to “frame” the journaling.

Noch ein Paris-Photo. Hier habe ich die Buchstaben auf Cardstock nachgezeichnet und dann ausgeschnitten.
Another photo from Paris. I traced the Chipboard letters on Cardboard. The flower paper is mounted on foam so it adds more depth to the layout.
Journaling reads: Oh Paris, such a great city! So much to see, so much to do but still with places to relax.

Das April Kit von Scrapmuse ist prall gefüllt mit wunderschönen Papieren und Embellishments. Ich hatte einen unglaublichen Spaß. Ich zeige Euch die Layouts mal wieder in zwei Teilen.
The April Kit of Scrapmuse is filled with awesome papers and embellishments. I had so much fun. I will show you the layouts in two parts.
*99 Bottles*
Journaling: 99 bottles of beer on a wall. Yes…you heard right, those bottles contain beer. Lambic that is – the Champagne of beer for those who know. Little do those know who think that all that is good is German Beer :-)
Die Buchstaben habe ich grün bemalt, damit sie zu dem roten Papier mehr Kontrast geben – jedoch habe ich alle Buchstaben distressed, damit sie zu dem etwas verquarzten Aussehen der Flaschen passen. Der Hintergrund wurde mit einem Rautenstempel aus dem Scrapmuse Kit vom Dezember 2004 gestempelt.
I painted the Letters to have more contrast- but I also distressed more or less everything to go with the bottles’ look in the photo. The background was stamped with a diamond stamp we had in our Scrapmuse Kit December 2004.

Journaling reads: Nat’s Lifelesson # 1: Sometimes you have to change your perspective! You will be amazed when you see something old in a new light!
This is a photo from inside the Louvre in Paris up through the pyramid.
*Bonding*
This is a picture of me and an American Friend Erin. The journaling on masking tape reads: Walking through the former jewish quarter of Berlin – Questions asked – that I can’t answer. Both sad but open enough to ask those important questions: “Why?” and “How could this happen?” – and the happiness and connection we made because we want to make it better. Thanks Erin!
