Blog: December 2009

Bye Bye 2009!

What can I say? This year has been a ride!

I have been traveling so much this year – I would have to say TRAVEL is one word that nails this year down- LOL. I have done a lot in teaching workshops. Healthwise it could have been better – for my loved ones and regarding flus and tonsilitis – me.

Let me have a little review with some favorite daily pictures :)

January:

Cold month-  busy – but a good one :)

February:

A nice short trip to London definetley a highlight that month.

March:

Teaching Workshops in NYC – definetly a big highlight this year. I have met so many wonderful people and this weekend has given me so much energy – I will always cherish it. Also had a nice time with friends in New Jersey. And then after coming back – teaching in Denmark – also really cool! More nice people!

Such a crazy month!

April:

Teaching in Bavaria – more wonderful people and a gorgeous host :) Loved the weather and the atmosphere down in the south.

May:

Spending lot’s of time with on the deck – enjoying the good weather in Hamburg

June:

And London again – always good to be there.

July:

My super creative month – I did so many projects just for fun, just for me – it really refueled me !

August:

Great time with my aunts, traveling to Denmark for more workshops.

September:

Teaching in Germany, Spain and Austria. On the road every weekend. An amazing month – met so many wonderful people. Loved Barcelona to pieces and discovered Austria as a very wonderful place to go back!

October:

Teching in the Netherlands – so much fun and then go to the States. Visiting friends in San Francisco, Sonoma County, spending time in Sequoia hiking, meeting friends in Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Arches, Bryce and Zion. So so amazing and still dreaming of this wonderful time.

*November*

Having a friend from the States over, having fun to show him around. Wrapping up the year and teaching the last workshop for 2009 at the ScrapbookKings.

December:

Flying to the States again for a wedding of a friend in Vermont, spending some nice time with friends and family, Christmas at home – sick, lot’s of visitors at the end of the year.

So not a bad year –  let’s also hope for a good new 2010! Have a great New Year’s Eve Celebration :)

Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr :)

DT Work: December Daily Album *Tattered Angels*

Oh I so loved working with this treasure box “Home for the Holiday”-Kit. This box includes everything you wish for to create an album – three different colored Glimmer Mists, Winterthemed Embossed Chips, Embellishments and gorgeous papers. I decided to create a Journal for December since I knew I was going to travel to a winter wedding in Vermont and on top December is itself a pretty eventful month.

Here is the cover:

DecDaily_01

As you can see I used the Glimmer Mist on the cover pages and then sanded them lightly to highlight the embossed tree. I painted the fence with blue acrylic paint from the back. I did the same with the photocorners and then used a black Journaling Pen to trace the embossed areas.

DecDaily_01_A

I had prepared all of the pages in advance – sprayed them with the Glimmer Screen and the other Chip tiles, cut up the papers and tags to create a background. For the days I had printed out numbers, some of those I had glued on top of the smaller chip tiles.

DecDaily_02

DecDaily_03

DecDaily_04

I also used the packaging -here the little window in the Frosty Chip Package to create a small shadowbox for this page.

DecDaily_05

Sometimes I wrote some remarks on the chipboard tiles itself.

DecDaily_06

this is the back of the banderole which was around the kit parcel – see …everything can be used.

DecDaily_08

Of course this album totally fits a January themed album too – and for whatever purpose you will use it…it creates fun while working with it and will give you joy for a long time whenever you reach out and look at your finished album!

thanks for looking!

DT Work: Holiday Hangover Kit Part *ScrapTastic*

Such a fun name for the January Kit by ScrapTastic: Holiday Hangover – and it sure is fun to work with it :)

Echt ein witziger Name für das Januar Kit von ScrapTastic: Holiday Hangover (Feiertagskater ist wohl ne gute Übersetzung ;) ) – und es macht echt Spaß damit zu arbeiten :)

 *Here Comes The Sun*

A little hommage to my friend Marina who unfortunatley lives far away in San Francisco…but she will be visiting us tomorrow for two days- YEAH

I had painted some parts where I wanted to journal with gesso and then rubbed some punchinella on top to give it some texture. the journaling itself is written with a pencil. I sprayed the American Crafts Alphas with Glimmer Mist.

*4th Season*

Well – LOL – when I created this layout I had no idea that this year we would actually have a fourth season with lot’s of snow. I get the kit a couple weeks ahead of time…so…LOL – I should renew this ;)

*Snow man Cards*

If you are not too hangover from the holidays you can even begin to create holiday cards for next Christmas- LOL

*Moods*

For this layout I used a graffiti I had found in Barcelona. I love the tiny alpha included in the kit- it is amazing how much you can journal with it!

Hope you have a nice week in between the years!

Hoffe Ihr habt eine schöne Woche zwischen den Jahren!

  • Kim Sonksen

That name is fab for the kit and I have to say I like the look of this kit the best so far. Your layouts and cards are wonderful!

Project 365 – Week 52

Here we are  – the week before the last week of the year. That was a quite weird and eventful then a down hill week- LOL – While the beginning was really busy and fun and Christmas was much awaited, Christmas was spent in bed- even today – with flu and fever. But we are getting there :)

*355/365*

Nice organ concert in St Michaelis – our main church here in Hamburg and also the most beautiful one here. The organs were just refurbished and it was amazing to hear all three of them at the same time

*356/365*

Such a snowstorm – my view from my office desk to the St. Pauli Stadium.

*357/365*

Jims new ornament – Bazooka Guy- with angel’s wings .

*358/365*

Christmas Eve on the way back from our dinner – fun snow men

*359/365*

Unfortunatley sick on Christmas Day -but still enjoying candle light and the tree.

*360/365*

Niles doing pedicure is the funniest thing in the world.

*361/365*

Our tree growing out of the skylight :) I love the tree this year a lot.

Wishing you a wonderful week !!!!

Wünsche Euch eine schöne Woche!!!
