DT-Work: Scary Halloween Projects *Tattered Angels*

Our assignment for September was to create something Halloween related and so I did :) SCARY!!!

*Imagination*

I had asked my friend if she would have some Halloween photos for me – since we do not really celebrate Halloween in Germany :) And there she had this wonderful vintage photo Halloween 1969 of hers- with the woolen Braids – so cute. I used a Glimmer Screen on the background and sprayed with Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Chalkboard over it. Then I brushed it with the Chandelier Glam here and there and sprayed again. The little textured and stamped areas are created with Heidis Texture Stamps– I soooo love those! I stamped tissue paper and glued it down with the Glam. For the tree I had used three of the beautiful new Fall colors – sprayed directly onto the Screen, then lift it, turned it and did a negative stamp on top of some paper. Then I stamped it with the haunted Tree from the beautiful Halloween Stamp set and cut the tree out.

For this layout I sprinkled some of the Bordeaux Glimmer Glam onto the background. For the title I used the second layer of the Framed Fonts and sprayed, then cut out the letters. The spider was stamped with Glimmer Glaze, then oversprayed with the spider screen and Chalkbaord. I used a marker later.

*Happy Halloween*

For this card I used mainly the new Glimmer Mist Fall colors . I also used the spider net on the Chip Tile. The cat was like the spider stamped with Glaze, then overstamped with Archival Ink, sprayed with Glimmer Mist and the eyes in green colored with Glimmer Glaze.

Wishing you fun creating scary Halloween projects! :)

On sunday before I flew home I finally had some time to snapp photos of the place and the other teachers – I had taught all my workshops in a row on Saturday.

I so can’t wait to get back next September. The next event will be September 23-25, 2011 – and this time it is located in Sint Laureins, Belgium – in the hotel – and old monastery where Birgit and I slept. It is such a beautiful place!!!

DTWork: Creating fun dimensional embellishments – SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L™

One of the big hits right now are all the new wonderful Die Cuts that you can use for all sorts of projects. I for example love the new Alterations by Tim Holtz – some of them are so detailed and fun and they give so much possibilities.

I do what so ever love to add dimensions to my projects and so I had to come up with an easy way on how to add dimension to my die cut embellishments.

Of course you can always use our Adhesive Sheets if you want to use Die Cuts-but did you know that you can use them also on other materials then paper? Foam for example …and foam is awesome to add dimension. Watch my video to see how :

Natürlich kann man  unsere Adhesive Sheets immer für die DieCuts verwenden – aber man kann sie auch für andere Materialien als Papier verwenden! Zum Beispiel Moosgumme – und Moosgummi ist super um Dimension zu erzeugen. Schaut Euch mein Video an, um zu sehen wie man das macht:

Link is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxpNZBsUgqk

I hope you enjoyed the video and will try out all the fun ways you can use your Adhesives Sheets with.

Tattered Angels: Well-Behaved Women- Canvas

This canvas shows the photo of my grandaunt Margot after she played pretty wild on the street. Her father wanted to document her looks – the pants are showing, the bow is not straight anymore! I love this and it also shows my great grandfather had a good sense of humor by taking this picture :)

Tattered Angels: Layered Texture Stamping

There is so much you can do with the new Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze- it is really fun to try it out. One of my new fun techniques I like to do is what I call “Layered Texture Stamping”. I love texture on my embellishments and layouts and the new Tattered Angels Media give you an amazing possibility to add a tactile extra oomph to your pages and projects.

For Fall Card I used the fun Halloween Hauntings Glimmer Screens and the Halloween Hunting Stamps.

I used the Haunted Tree Screen and sprayed it with three different colors of the yummie Glimmer Mist Fall Edition.

Sugar Maple, Pomegrenate and Dragonfly- ohhh yummie colors :)

Then you carefully lift the Stencil and put it upside down on a piece of paper/Cardstock

You can over the whole screen with a paper towel and roll over it so the Glimmer Mist sets into the paper. Then lift the screen.

You can see that I wasn’t really covering the whole screen- so there are some spaces that are not nicely transfered- but…with the layering we can fix this :) No need to throw this away. Use the Glimmer Glaze Color of your choice and put it with the little attached Brush right onto your Stamp. Don’t forget to clean you stamp real quick as the dried Glimmer Glaze will otherwise hurt your stamp. Then stamp on top of the misted tree.

Next I love to stamp with Versamark and emboss with clear embossing powder.

You can see the wonderful texture that is created already – the tree trunk actually has the texture of a real one

Now I put the tree stamp on again – but a bit off the already created shape and sprayed with Apple Glimmer Mist – also Fall Edition – over the crown of the tree.

I love how the Glaze and embossed areas resist the Glimmer Mist and give the tree even more dimension and depth. Next I wanted to mimic the Changing of the colors during Fall inspired by the wonderful Leaf Peaking Roadtrip I once did in New England in Fall. So I used some of the Glimmer Glam and stippled with two different colors with a fan brush into the crown.

I then also used another color of Glaze and went over some parts of the tree again. (I never know when to stop- LOL)

Then I cut the image out and mounted it on a tag for a card for someone.

I did something similiar with another card and image for Halloween- the cat – you will see the card in my design team post on the DesignTeam Blog at the end of the month :)

You can learn this and other techniques using Tattered Angels Products in on of my upcoming workshops for example
