Blog: January 2012

Bloom and be happy

Finally I can share projects I created for CHA since the show just opened :)

Here is a canvas I did for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L – so much fun to play in a different way with adhesives:

Loved creating the background texture with the new Adhesive Sheets and Utee :)

And never forget…photo corners can be pretty versatile – and make up for great flowers.

Be happy and bloom too today :)

hugs

I just finished with the last of JumpStart. These are amazing women who have truly inspired me. I’m in awe of these artists from around the world who are busy creating like me. I don’t get around technically very well, so to have something so easy was wonderful for me. Love, love, love it. Thanks you so much!

I can’t tell you how much I loved every day in January knowing that your email would arrive with something new to inspire. Thank you so much for all your work in putting together such a varied group of people and sites. I do hope that, in the future, there might be another such event. Thanks to all of the participants; it’s been quite a ride!!

Great use of photo corners. I love your flowers. I also want to thank you for the Creative Jump Start. I feel very inspired! I appreciate being introduced to all of your wonderfully talented friends from all over the world. I now visit thier blogs to “stay in touch”. I feel part of an exciting Worldwide community! All, except one, of your participants gave of themselves unselfishly. I am very sad it is over. Thanks, again!!

I want to add my thanks for this wonderful month of Jumpstarts!!! I tend to be super critical of my work and for me art is a chore sometimes. I have learned to try and let go and just do! Each of these women are amazing and I appreciate the time that went into this by you and each of them!!!!!!! THANK YOU!

I just wanted to thank you soooooo much for this month. Everyday has been like Christmas for me and it helped Jump Start my year in the best way possible. PLease please do this again next year, it’s the perfect way to start a new year. You did an amazing job lining everything up and it went so smoothly. It was fun not knowing what each guest was going to do, love that it was a mix of everything. I’ve been inspired by them and even some of the readers work in the flickr.

    Thanks again !!!!!

Cuteness

an older layout of mine with my friend A. and her sweet little daughter

supplies: Webster’s Pages, Pink Paislee; Prism; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L MyStik; Golden Gel Medium; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Chalkboard and Glimmer Screen; Tim Holtz Type Charms; Hambly Screenprints; Cheesecloth

I am longing for the days where you can sit outside and have a coffee at one of our many street cafes here. The funny thing is that our weather is so bad in Hamburg- lot’s of rain, that we actually go out A LOT . So you see bars and cafe’s right now that have a box with nice woolen blankets outside as soon as one little sunray is visible. I just love the vibe and feel when the life of a city takes place on the street.

Are you longing for some sun too?

Have a great and….sunny day ;)

Dabei…or…always at my side

is this crazy cat…

supplies: 7 Gypsies; Heidi Swapp Letters; Embelishment: Scrapware; Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L 3D Foam Pads, E-Z Runner;  Canvas Fabric

Apparently he likes to sit on everything that takes attention from him. My projects, my studio, my kindle, my books and so on….LOL. I think this is a message….Well I know he likes to have me around so that he can ignore me ;)

Have a fun day!

I love this page! (^ ^) My cat, of course, is the king of the house. Everything is his, my books, my papers, my buttons, my threads and my glue. He loves glue! I don’t know why I write “my, my, my” if all the things are from him :D

one reason i don’t have a cat is because i’m afraid to get my feelings hurt all the time by being ignored ;) our friends have one that looks almost like yours and it’s a cutie so i can imagine your cat is a sweetheart as well.

Hi Nat! Mine (well, 1 of my 2 kitties) does it all the time! It makes me nervous when I quilt, because he sits so close to the sewing machine I could almost stitch his ears to my quilts! Still I think it’s a call for attention… I’m sure he would like me to drop all my creative activities (and computing) so I can devote myself to him ;-)

This Picture….

will always crack me up – we laughed so much in Amsterdam doing this silly pose.

Who says working isn’t fun sometimes- LOL. A., Sharon Laakkonen, Wendy Senger and Kelly Goree doing the stop motion. All the people around us must have thought that there were several screws loose – LOL.  And that reminds me…I really want to go back to Amsterdam. It is such an awesome city.

supplies:  Studio2Mer, Rose Moka letters, SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L E-Z Runner; Glass Pebbles by Eco Green Crafts

I wish you an amazing day today and a great weekstart!

Just laugh…or…so there

this is definelty a week where things are not going the way they should ….LOL. But do you know this punchy mood when something goes wrong and you just laugh…like a Kookaburra….(listen ;) )

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc_-icFHwQo]

These birds woke me up one morning last year in Australia when I was on my workshop tour in NSW. I opened one eye because I heard this noise and because Sherry had told me about those birds, I knew it was them . I started laughing in bed, it was soo funny.

So ….this week- I’m just gonna laugh it off like a Kookaburra – so there printer, so there lost CHA package, so there accidents…..

Have a day filled with laughter :)
