CJS 2015 Carmen Sanchez

About Cuchy:

As far as I remember, I’ve always been interested in any kind of arts and crafts. I won my first prize at the age of 6 with a chalk drawing, which is still hanging on my daughter’s room.

I have been married for more than 20 years now and I have 2 children, who also like the crafty side of life.

I started playing with digital scrapbooking with no idea that scrapbooking even was a “craft”. I found a digital scrapbooking gallery and I knew I wanted to do “that”. The next step was to “touch” the papers and textures, so I tried scrapbooking in a more manual and traditional way.

Mainly selftaught, I do not miss the chance to attend as much workshops, either online or on-site I can, being always in an ongoing training.

My works have evolved from “clean and simple” to mixed media layers and layers. I love to try, experiment and learn new techniques with paint, papers, textures and everything within reach.

Former member of the Kuretake’s Design Team -manufacturer of writing supplies- Design Team Instructor of Stampers Best -american manufacturer of rubber stamps and cling cushion mounting foam- and contributor and guest designer in various Spanish and international blogs, I teach workshops in Madrid and Barcelona and I love to teach from my own experiences, and encourage the students to think outside the box and put their inner self in everything they create, to achieve a personal and unique result.

I try to balance my family life and work with mixed media, scrapbooking, music and my blog, where you can see my latest projects.

Now that looks like there is a lot of fun coming up for CJS15 from Cuchy:

I love your work, Ms. Carmen! I am just starting out (better late than never) on this public art journey and it is very intimidating. I grew up a crafter and have self taught online the last 5 years in mixed media. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
