Standup Bass or…New Stencil with Stencil Girl Products

New Stencil in the house and it is a 6×6 Standup Bass Stencil

One of my favorite things in our household is my husband’s standup bass- I just love that thing - and I thought it would be a great stencil using it for everything related to music, or lyrics you quote , or layouts with bands, theater, concerts…etc

I used the stencil positive and negative at the same spot – meaning I sprayed over the stencil , then flipped it over at another spot to get the access paint onto the page and then took another color and sprayed over it again .

Love the dimension and the layers you build up with this method. Other than that I used Derwent Arbars, Dylusions and Liquitex Spraypaints with the background. The stamps you see are stamps I found at a store around the corner I am so in Love with them.

I hope you like my new stencil. It comes in two different sizes 6×6 and 4×4 inches.

Yes, I Can or…Yes, I can

Sometimes it is good to affirm yourself with a little tongue in cheek approach ..besides the title is meant to be true

Pretty big canvas I worked on – at least for me and it was a bit hard to adjust…I think a bigger me would have been better design wise – but for my first time working on such a scale I am ok with it …because yes I can…hehehe.

So many things are on my plate right now- in my professional life and my private life…it is good to do something for fun and tell myself that I can do it.

And now it is dooming off my studio wall as a constant reminder…hope it doesn’t fall of the wall- LOL

Only One Page or…Viva Las Vegas Stamps

Here is my second project as a guest designer for Viva Las Vegas Stamps. I created an Art Journal Page

I totally fell in love with the Map Background stamp and when I created a transfer of a photo of Yosemite I thought that the Map Background would fit perfectly to the theme and that the roads itself would make perfect connections with the branches that transferred. I used the Bird Head to make connections and also because it had the same visual map feel to me.

I stamped with black Ranger Distress Paint which generated a nice resist to the Watercolor and the Derwent Artbars and Inktense Blocks I used over it.

Other Supplies Used: Liquitex Gel Medium, Liquitex Acrylic Ink, Deli Paper, Ranger Distress Paint, Derwent Artbars, Derwent Inktense Blocks, Schmincke Watercolors, Graphite Marker, Prima Canvas Letters, Markers

For me it would be Washi Tape, Chevron and Sandal-Roman-Ancle Boots (if you love any of the three- please please don’t take it personally- when you use it, decorate it or wear it – I am sure it is awesome – take the statement as a tongue in cheek comment !)

New Adventures – ArtJournal Page

This time when I came back from CHA I made an effort to play at least half an hour in my studio in my artjournal with the new CHA stuff before tackling all the emails and other things that had to be taken care of.

2013 is a very exciting year for me and the adventure started on the day I did this journal page. I will fill you in later in a couple of months- LOL. The bright colors of this page are a good indicator how excited and full of hopes and happiness I am for things to come

I used Julie Fei Fan Balzer’s and Dina Wakley’s new stencils for Crafter’s Workshop – love! Also used Ranger Distress Inks, Liquitex Acrylic Paints, Liquitex Professional Spraypaints, Derwent Artbars and Posca Markers.

Make Your Colors Sing – Dylusions & Derwent ArtBars Tutorial

Give me new paint media and I vanish into my studio going crazy – I just can’t help it!

Recently I purchased some awesome Dylusions Ink Sprays – and somehow some Dylusions Stencils and Stamps also fell into that basket…ooops Love the products! As you know I have been playing with spray paints for many years ….and so getting some new spray paints makes me just giddy with excitement to try them with all kinds of other media and find fun new techniques. Well….so it was only a matter of time, that after I figured out the scoop about those spray inks and how they react, to try them with Derwent ArtBars (if you missed my post about them – here you go)…another awesome new paint media in my possession. OHHHH MMMMYYYY DEAR!!!!
