Vor einiger Zeit haben Daphne und ich die Plastik-Knüddel-Technik probiert und ich möchte Euch auch dieses Mal nicht vorenthalten, was ich damit nun letztendlich kreiert habe. Die Leinwand wurde ja erst mit der Klarspüler Technik bearbeitet und dann erst mit der Plastik-Krumpel-Technik weiterbearbeitet und hier ist mein Endergebnis als Geschenk für meinen Schwager.

A couple weeks ago Daphne and I tried the Clingwrap Crinkle Technique and I want to show you what I created with it. The Canvas was first treated with the Rinse Aid Resist Technique and then with the Clingwrap Crinkle Technique and this is my final result – a present for my BIL.

Bin schon gespannt, was Daphne daraus gemacht hat! I’m really excited to see what Daphne did!

Ich habe gleich “zwei” Stöckchen bekommen – und ich werde sie fangen ;-)ÂÂ Zunächst einmal von Vicki – ich bin als denkender Blogger gekürt worden – LOL – das ehrt mich.

Nun muß ich mir Gedanken machen, welche 5 Blogger ich mit diesem Award bedenken möchte.

Now I have to think about five Bloggers I would like to give his Award.

Nun als erstes wäre da Craft Critque – ein Blog, auf dem Produkte aus allen Hobby-Bereichen getestet und bewertet werden. Von Menschen wie Du und ich. Ich finde diesen Blog großartig – vor allem, weil nicht immer nur positive Dinge gepostet werden. Warum sollte man auch – wenn man schon ein Produkt testet, sollte man auch die ehrliche Meinung dazu schreiben. Selektive Magazine und auch Blogs, die nur positive Produkte platzieren gibt es ja schon genug. Aus diesem Grunde gehört der Thinking Blogger Award auf jeden Fall hierher.

Well first of all I would like to give it to Craft Critique – it is a Blog that reviews all kind of craft tools and poducts. Written by people like you and me. I love this Blog – because it is honest and there are also negative reviews. Why should only positive reviews are published – if you test a result you should write your opinion. We do have enough selective magazines and blogs that only place positive product reviews. Therefore the Thinking Blogger Award has definetly to go to Craft Critique.

Ein weiterer Blog ist für mich Emily Falconbridges Blog. Nicht nur wegen ihres grandiosen Einfalls des Deck of Me, sondern auch, weil sie Technik-Ideen teilt und einige ihrer threads einen schlicht zum Nachdenken bringen.

Another Blog for me is the one of Emily Falconbridge. Not only because she had this awesome idea of the Deck of Me but also because she likes to share technique ideas and some of her threads are definetly make you thinking.

Und dann noch der Beyond Appearances Blog – klar – Ihr werdet jetzt sagen “ach weil sie da Gastdesigner ist” – Nö, gar nicht deswegen, sondern weil die Mädels wunderbare Einfälle haben und grandiose Layouts machen, die sehr in die Tiefe gehen.

Well and then there is the Beyond Appearances Blog – of course some of you think “well she is biased because she is the guest designer” – NO, not therefore, just because this girls have awesome ideas and do wonderful layouts, that are going deeper than a lot of other challenges!!!

Und Daphnes Blog – oh ja – da bin ich voreingenommen, aber ich liebe ihre Projekte und Laoyuts und ich bin so happy, daß sie die Liebe für Techniken mit mir teilt und…sie kann unglaublich offen sein – ich sag Dir, das bringt Dich zum Nachdenken!!! LOL

And Daphne‘s Blog – and yep – there I’m really biased, but I love her projects and layouts and I love that she shares the Love for Techniques with me and ….that she can be open as hell – that makes you thinking, I tell you!!! LOL

Und zuguter LetztÂÂ :-) grins, der Blog des gebeutelten Ehemannes einer Scrapperin – ich meine HALLO – das ist doch wohl der Spiegel, den man uns unbedingt vorhalten sollte, oder nicht? Prust!

Well and last but not least :-) smile, the Blog “Life of a Scrapper’s Husband” – I mean HELLO – that is a mirror we all need to look into, or not? LOL

Wie Ihr wohl gemerkt habt, habe ich einen Photoswap mit einigen mir Lieben gemacht. Nun habe ich meine Layouts alle erhalten – von Andrea, Christiane, Daniela, Kimmy und Svenja. Und die gefielen mir alle so unglaublich gut, daß sie nun meine seit Jahren nackte Wand schmücken! Wunderbar! Ich danke Euch !!!

As you might have noticed I did a photoswap with a couple friends. I got all my layouts back – from Andrea, Christiane, Daniela, Kimmy and Svenja. And I love them so much that I had to hang them on my white boring wall! Awesome! Thank you so much!!!

Oh und…darüber freue ich mich riesig ;-) Das Layout wird heute übrigens persönlich vergeben :-)

Vögel – das Thema der Woche bei Emily. Was kann ich sagen, das erste was mir einfiel war der Songtext eines Liedes, welches…eigentlich gar nicht nach meinem Geschmack ist, weil ich eher auf andere Musik stehe – LOL. Aber sehr selbst :-)

Birds – this week at Emily. What can I say, the first thing that came to my mind were the lyrics of a song which …I’m not that fond of as I like other music styles better – LOL. But see yourself :-)

Mal wieder Zeit für Daphne und mich, eine neue Technik auszuprobieren – wir empfehlen Euch das Buch “Collage Unleashed” – grandiose Techniken, wunderbare Layouts! Diesmal haben wir uns an eine Technik gewagt, mit der man mit Crayons einen Hintergrund…bügeln kann :-)

It is time for Daphne and me again to try a new technique – we do recommend the book “Collage Unleashed” – awesome techniques and wonderful layouts! This time we were up to a technique where you iron on crayons for a new background :-)

Was man braucht -what you need

• Muffinform – muffin tin
• Crayons in verschiedenen Farben – different colored crayons
• oven
• optional mica
• ein ganz altes und schon abgelegtes Bügeleisen – an old iron (which you more likley wouldn’t use anymore)
• Cardstock

Erster Teil/1st part

Zunächst habe ich die Papierbanderolle von den Crayons entfernt, und einige Stücke von verschiedenen Farben in eine Wegwerf-Muffinform hineingebrochen. Gut ist eine gesunde Mischung von Farben – mehr helle als dunkle – ich hatte leider nur eher dunkle Farben.

First of all I removed the paper around the crayons and broke different color pieces into a disposable muffin tin. It would be better to have a healty mixture of colors- more light colors when dark colors – but unfortunatley I had more dark colors.

Ich habe hierauf noch ein wenig Mica Flocken gestreut.

I added some Mica Flakes to the tin.

Hiernach habe ich die Muffinform in den Ofen geschoben und das ganze bei 120 ° Celsius ca. 10 Minuten schmelzen lassen. Den Ofen habe ich nach 10 Minuten einfach ausgemacht und die Form im Ofen abkühlen lassen.

Then I set the muffin tin in the oven and melted the crayons – heat the oven to 250 ° Fahrenheit (120 ° Celsius Degree). I turned the oven off after 10 minutes and let the mixture cool down inside.

Und das ist das Ergebnis des ersten Teil – and this is the result of part One:

Zweiter Teil/Second Part

Nun das olle Bügeleisen raus (ich habe hier ein Ribbon-Bügeleisen benutzt – wenn Ihr mich fragt, meine unsinnigste Anschaffung während meiner Scrapperlaufbahn ;-) ), ein wenig Cardstock und die zusammengebackenen Crayons. Auf das erhitzte Bügeleisen habe ich die Crayons-Formen verteilt – Vorsicht, nicht die Finger verbrennen!!
Now take the old unloved iron (I used a ribbon iron – if you ask me that this was one of my most unuseful tools I bought . but mmmh – now it comes in handy ;-) ), a sheet cardstock and the baked crayons. I smeared the crayon forms onto the heated iron – be careful to not burn your fingers!!

Man kann auf dem unscharfen Bild ganz gut die Mica Flocken erkennen :-) :-)

You can spot the mica flakes pretty good on this really blurry photo :-) :)

Und nun – einfach das ganz auf Cardstock verteilen, immer wieder das Bügeleisen draufpressen, nicht zu sehr rumrühren (sonst vermischt man das ganze nur zu einer dunklen Farbmasse), das Bügeleisen wieder hochheben und ab und zu wieder mehr Crayons auf das Bügeleisen auftragen.

And now – just apply everything to Cardstock, just press down the iron, do not smear to much (you will only mix the all the colors to a dark colormix), lift the iron and once in a while add more crayons onto the iron.

Wenn man mag kann man hinterher noch mit Stickles und Metallic-Spray rumspielen :-)

Ich mag das Ergebnis total – aber leider muss ich sagen, dass meine etwas empfindlichen Atemwege den doch sehr intensiven Geruch der schmelzenden Crayons als unangenehm empfanden – also seid ein wenig vorsichtig wenn Ihr das macht oder macht es am weit geöffneten Fenster!

I really love the result – but I gotta say, that my sensitive airways didn’t quite like the smell of the melting crayons – please be careful if you try this or do it with a white open window!

Vergesst nicht nachzuschauen, was Daphne gezaubert hat – don’t forget to see what Daphne did with this technique!
