Auf vielfachen Wunsch mal wieder eine neue Retro Challenge! Dieses Mal soll es um Eure Jugendzeit gehen. Meist gibt es ja bestimmte Jugendkults und man gehört entweder der einen oder anderen Ströhmung an – oder gar keiner :-) Daher der Titel Popper oder Punk! Aber es könnte auch Rock’n Roller, Rocker, Beatnik, Hip-Hoper, Raver, Alternativer oder Skater sein – wie wart Ihr drauf? Und vor allem- warum? Wie seht Ihr dies heute?
As many of you asked I post a new Retro Challenge! This time I want to see something about your youth. Most of the time there were determined youth subcultures and one was part of the one or the other – or none :-) That is where the title comes from Prep or Punk! But it could also be Rock’n Roller, Rocker, Beatnik, Hip-Hoper, Raver, Surfer or Skater – What have you been? And why? And how do you look back to this time?

Soo cool! Ich hab immer das Gefühl, als ich jugendlich war (Moment, bin ich ja noch! *g*), waren alle einfach nur irgendwie gleichgültig – zumindest was Dinge wie Diskussionen anging. Schade eigentlich…trotz allem, dein Layout ist klasse und der Song passt perfekt.
Ich konnte gar nicht aufhören mit dem Juni-Kit zu arbeiten – also hier noch der Rest meiner Arbeiten – also fast der Rest ;-)

Das Kit von Scrapmuse für diesen Monat ist echt grandios. Die Papiere von Elsie erinnerten mich sehr an meine Schulzeit :-) und es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht ein wenig in alten Zeiten zu verweilen. Das Papier ist übrigens wider Erwarten sehr gut dem eigenen Stile anpassbar und vor allem das selbstklebende Stoff-Papier funzt total. Aber nun erstmal der erste Teil meiner DT-Werke.
This month’s Scrapmuse Kit is really awesome. Elsie’s papers reminded me totally on my school times :-) and it was a lot of fun to go back and stay in old times. The paper is although I thought otherwise transferable to your own style and my favorite papers are the self adhesive fabrique papers. But for now my first part of my DT-work.

Journaling: 4th Grade – 1984. We were such a cool class. Many different nationalities and backgrounds. But we spent so much time together even outside school. Mr. Brinkraut was one of my favorite teachers ever. He encouraged me to write and gave me a bike so I could join a biketrip. I would so love to see this bunch again!

Journaling: There is no doubt about it! As a child I had been a klutz. This photo – another proof, look at my pants- wet! 2nd Grade – firestation – so cool! And such a good day. And then I won the puppet for a week to bring home – I jumped up and down “I got it, I got it” and jumepd right into the fire water pond! Not on purpose of course! Everybody laughed – I cried! I have lot’s of those memories…because I had been a klutz! Oh yes!
I applied glossy accents on the flowers, so IRL they look like glass flowers.

“Was möchtest Du gerne lernen?” Gute Frage von Emily – da gibt es vieles, Gitarre spielen, Italienisch, Türkisch, Tango, Mixed Media Techniken bis zum Umfallen, Auto fahren – LOL und dergleichen vieles mehr. Aber im Moment möchte ich wieder lernen zu träumen. yup – das klingt komisch, nicht war? Aber ist so – ich habe es irgendwie verlernt – ich denke immer gleich, daß das was ich mir wünsche eh nicht klappt oder daß ich darauf erst hinarbeiten muß, bevor ich davon träumen kann. Also ich träume jetzt mal…. :-)
“What do you want to learn?” Very good question by Emily – there is a lot, playing guitar, Italian, Turkish, Tango, Mixed Media Art techniques till you drop, driving a car – LOL and many things more. But right now I would love to learn dreaming again. yup – this sounds weird, doesn’t it? But that is how it is – I have somehow lost the ability – every time I wish for something I tell myself that this is not gonna happen or that I do have to work for this before I can start dreaming about it. Well…I will start dreaming now….:-)

Die Taube habe ich aus von einem Chipboard auf Papier abgezeichnet. Die Sterne ebenfalls. Der Journaling Stempel ist von 7Gypsies. Die Taube und die Sterne sind auf Foam Tape aufgeklebt, um wiederum mehr Dimension zu erzeugen.

Bei diesem Layout, habe ich die Monogramme mit einem ZIG-Stift in braun und orange bemalt und sodann mit Orange-Stickles ausgefüllt.

Am Abend vor der Hochzeit mein Schwager und seine Liebste!
A day before the wedding my BIL and his fiance!
Hier habe ich die Maske auf pinkes Cardstock geklebt und mit grüner Acrylfarbe darübergemalt. Die Umrandungen in weiß sind mit einem Signo Ball Stift gezeichnet. Der Titel wurde mit Making Memories Foam Stamps gestempelt.
I applied the Heidi Swapp mask in the kit to pink cardstock and painted green acrylic paint over it. I traced the outlines of the butterflies with a white Signo Ball.

Das Journaling: …sorgst immer noch für Schmetterlinge in meinem Bauch

You still give me butterflies in my stomach
Den Cardstock habe ich mit dünn mit Gesso bemalt. Für die Schmettlinge habe ich, um die Innsenseite in der passenden Farbe zu erhalten – die Heidi Swapp Maske auf Cardstock aufgelegt, mit ModPodge (einem Serviettenkleber) die Umrandungen versiegelt. Die Maske sodann schnell unter fließendem Wasser abgewaschen und den Kleber trocknen lassen. Sodann mit Acrylfarbe drüber gemalt. Auf den mit dem Serviettenkleber versiegelten Flächen ließ sich die Acrylfarbe mit einem Küchentuch schnell und einfach abwischen. Nachdem dies wiederum getrocknet war, habe ich die Schmetterlinge ausgeschnitten und mit der Nähmaschine und verschiedenen Fadenfarben benäht.
I painted a thin layer of gesso onto the cardstock. For the butterflies – I applied the mask on cardstock, applied ModPodge over it – removed the mask quickly and washed it! – and let it dry. Afterwards I painted with red acrylic paint above and I was able to remove the paint at the places where the sealer had been applied before. (you can just smear it off with a paper towel). After this was dry, I cut those butterflies out and sewed with different colored threads onto them.

Journaling: Such a rare moment – all three in a picture- looking good – yet so sad about Ariane leaving.
Das Foto zeigt zwei meiner Freundinnen und mich. Meine Freundin Ariane hat an diesem Abend Abschied gefeiert, bevor sie am nächsten Tag in die USA auswanderte. Es war eine tolle Party und doch so unglaublich traurig.
This photo shows two of my friends and me. My friend Ariane had a good bye party this evening before she moved to the States. It was an awesome party but yet so sad.
Hier habe ich die Monogramms mit Stickles bemalt. Die Knöpfe sind aufgenäht auf das wunderschöne Rhonna Farrer Papier, welches ich auf Foam Tape geklebt habe, damit das ganze mehr Dimension erhält. Die Blumen sind auf pinkes Draht aufgefädelt. Das gepunktete Scenic Route Papier habe ich mit einem PizzaRoller bearbeitet und die Ränder mit einer Rasierklinge aufgerubbelt. Von einem der Clear Frames habe ich den Barcode verwendet.

Das ist echt cool! Erinnert micht total daran, was meine Schwester und ich immer gemacht haben, sobald meine Eltern mal aus dem Haus gegangen sind. TV!! Wir hatten ein total ausgeklügeltes und durchorganisiertes System, eine stand immer am Fenster und hat geguckt, ob sie zurückkommen, dann haben wir schnell die Fernbedienung wieder so hingepackt, wie sie war und den Teppich glattgestrichen…. LOL!
