Diese Woche sprang Ali Edwards für Emily ein und ihr Thema war “Werbung/oder Müll-Post”. Etwas schwerig, ehrlich gesagt, denn so viel Werbung bekommen wir glücklicherweise nicht und wer jemals in einem amerikanischen Haushalt war, weiß, daß die Werbung an manchen Tagen riesige Stapel der normalen Post ausmacht. Aber das nette Kaffee an der Ecke hat ein paar flyer verteilt und die waren dann ganz nützlich um die Karte zu gestalten :-)

This week Ali Edwards helped Emily and the task was “junk mail”. This is a bit difficult as we are luckily enough don’t get that much junk mail and who ever had been to an American home knows that junk mail makes a huge deal of the daily mail. But the nice coffee at the corner of our street had put some flyers in the mail box and those were just right to create the card :-)

Und dann stellt sich noch die Frage: “Wann wird es endlich wieder Sommer?” Ich bin schon ganz deprimiert – es ist unglaublich oder? Seit Wochen nur Regen und Kälte – mmmpfff. Was macht Ihr gegen “Der-Sommer-bleibt-Weg-Depressionen”?

And there is also the question: “When will the summer arrive?” I’m really getting depressed. For weeks it is raining cats and dogs and cold. What are you doing against “The-Summer-That-Never-Came-Depressions”?

Wow- ich kann es gar nicht glauben, daß schon Halbzeit ist beim Deck of Me von Emily. Da Emily ein kleines Mädchen geboren hat, geht es diese Woche um eben diese: Mädchen.

Wow – I can’t believe it is half time with Emily’s Deck of Me. As Emily gave birth to a little baby girl this will be the topic of the week: Girls.

Und meinereiner wird sich jetzt um die Vorbereitung der Geburtstagsfeier kümmern!!! Es ist doch ganz schön, wenn sich so ein Tag ein wenig länger hinzieht :-) Übrigens das Album habe ich noch nicht, sobald ich es habe, werde ich mich natürlich bei Euch allen jeweils persönlich melden!!! Ein schönes Wochende!!!

And now I will do my birthday party preparations!!! It is kind of fun to celebrate this day a couple days :-) Oh and by the way – I don’t have the wonderful album you all created for me not yet, but as soon as I have it, I will write you all personally! Have a grgoeus weekend!!!

Vor einigen Wochen hatte ich meine 6. Retro-Challenge gepostet und ich freue mich sehr die Ergebnisse der Teilnehmer zeigen zu können. Einen besonderen Tusch möchte ich übrigens meiner Freundin Karen geben, die hiermit ihr allererstes Scrapbookinglayout gemacht hat und ….noch dazu eines, welches meinen Liebsten in der Blüte seiner Jugend zeigt- LOL. (Sorry Jim)

Gestern endlich der langersehnte Workshop mit Karen Russell – und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Der von Heike Lenz großartig organisierte Workshop hat unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht. Karen Russell ist eine wunderbare Lehrerin und es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht ihre interaktiven Layouts auf 8.5×11 zu adaptieren. Die Atmosphäre während des gesamten Workshoptages war gelöst und entspannt und es war schön viele alte und neue Gesichter zu treffen! Auch der zweite Workshop geleitet von Heike hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und beim nächsten Mal bin ich mit Sicherheit gerne wieder dabei!

Finally the long longed for workshop day with Karen Russell came- and I wasn’t disappointed. Heike Lenz did an awesome job organizing this workshop and it really was a lot of fun. Karen Russell is a gifted teacher and I enjoyed adapting her interactive layouts to 8.5 x 11. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back and it was great to see many “old” and “new” faces! The second workshop with Heike was also great and I will be attending another workshop for sure!
