Oh mann – nicht mehr lange und die Emily-Karten-Challenge ist vorüber – unglaublich oder? Diese Woche das Thema: Idee . Tja – mir fehlt noch immer die superbingospitzenturbo Idee – kommt noch – LOL.

Vor einigen Wochen schickte mir Daphne den Vorschlag für eine Gel-Medium Technik, die mir auf Anhieb gefiel. Ich machte mich also am Freitag daran, die Technik auszuführen. Gebraucht wird besonders viel Gel Medium (hehehe- Liz, nu weißt Du warum Du soviel Gel Medium für mich in den 318. Stock schleppen musstest! Knutsch!). Ziel ist es ein dreidimensionales Layout zu erstellen – so weit so gut ;-)
A couple weeks ago I got Daphne‘s suggestion to try a Gel-Medium technique which I really liked. I started with the technique on friday. Mostly need is Gel Medium (hehehe Liz – here you go – that is why you had to carry this gallon of Gel Medium up to the 318.th floor! Smoochies!) The goal is to get a three dimensional layout – so far so good.
Zunächst bestreicht man die zu bearbeitende Oberfläche mit Gesso – ich habe Cardboard genommen.
First of all you add gesso to prime your working surface- I used Cardboard.
Ich habe dann noch ein wenig auf die Oberfläche gestempelt – und dann eine dicke Schicht Gel Medium mit einem Spachtel aufgetragen.
I stamped a little bit onto the surface and then added a thick layer of gel medium with a putty knife.
Dann habe ich ein paar Tannenzweige, Sterne und andere Weihnachtsdeko-Elemente genommen, auf das Gel Medium angedrückt und sodann das ganze mit noch viel mehr Gel Medium ganz bedeckt.
After this I added some fir tree branches, stars and some other christmas deco elements. On top of this I added even more gel medium until all was covered.
Noch ein wenig Glitter
and a little bit of glitter
und trocknen gelassen….Freitag…..Samstag….Sonntag….Montag- büdde?????? Also nichts für so Ungeduldige wie mich. Wenn die milchige Oberfläche durchsichtig geworden ist – ist es durchgetrocknet. Ok.
And let it dry…Friday….Saturday….Sunday….Monday….eh excuse me????? Nothing for impatient people like me. If you can see through the surface again, it is dried – alright.
mmhhh – interessant…oder langeweilig?
mmmh- interesting….. or….a bit boring?
Nun – Hoffnung bestand ja noch – die Oberfläche sollte nun mit verschiedenen Farblasuren bestrichen werden- nu jut…das mache ich doch gerne!
Well – there was still hope – the surface should be painted with different acrylic glazes – alrighty …I like that!
Und dann wieder trocknen lassen und….boah – ist das hässlich!
And then let it dry….and….oh boy – this is so ugly!!!!!
Oh man – ich möchte das gleich in die Tonne kicken. Warum ich Euch das zeige? Na ja—also, weil man ja auch aus den Misserfolgen Anderer lernen kann und vielleicht wollt Ihr Eure Gallonen von Gel Medium lieber anders einsetzen. Aber schaut mal- vielleicht ist ja Daphnes Ergebnis schöner als meines geworden ;-)
Oh man – I would love to kick this right into the garbage can. Why I show this? Well…I think one can learn from others failures and maybe you want to use your gallons of Gel Medium in a different way. But first look at Daphne’s results – maybe it is way better than mine ;-)

Ich find es jetzt nicht ganz so schlimm, aber ich musste über Deinen anschaulichen Bericht doch was schmunzeln! :)

Manno, ich hab auch schon soviele Sachen vergurkt – nur so lernt man! Ich würd jetzt damit weitermachen… teeren und federn könnte es vielleicht noch rausreissen ;-)

Also weisst Du was ich Klasse finde, dass Du eben auch einen Versuch zeigst der nicht so dolle ist. Ich muss sagen, dass mir dieses medium ueberhauot nicht gefaellt, denn es scheint dem jeweiligne Projekt nichts gutes zu tun, wenn Du verstehst wie cih das meine

Und für Tag 3 – Weihnachtskarten – Ihr habt ja schon ein paar gesehen- es bleibt überwiegend bei diesem Design ;-)

So und nun raus in den Regen – yikes!

tja, gegen eines ist man machtlos: das wetter… aber wenn du bei solchem wetter weiter so tolle karten produzierst, dann darf es noch ein paar tage regnen…aber nur bei euch da oben :o)

Dieses Jahr habe ich Graupapper für das Cover zugeschnitten und dann oben Löcher reingebammst für eine Buchringheftung. Ich werde wohl wieder viel mit Farbe und Gedöhns rumspielen ;-)
This year I used chipboard which I cut for the cover and applied holes for book rings. I plan to play with a lot of paints and stuff ;-)
