Layout: Happiness- Return Requested *Vintage Street Market*

When I saw the Travel Kit with all those beautiful little bits and pieces I instantly knew I wanted to use some of the Australia photos with it.

Happiness_VSM_01

I love the layered look and dimension the Aged Tinted Tape adds to the paper and I also added some Gesso to blend it in with the background. I thought those vintage buttons would look great as flower centers on the Epiphany Crafts Frayed Felt Flowers.

That little koala was my favorite in the zoo – we watched it forever and it was a really fun and happy day – Return Requested :)

Mixed Media Circus – The Grand Finale: Book of Techniques Workshop

You’ve asked and now we’re answering!  Watch for descriptions of all the classes we’re teaching to roll out over the next few weeks.  And now, just like a nosy reader, we’re starting at the end.

On Sunday afternoon, November 27th, 2011 – in Hamburg  Germany –  Julie and I will team teach a class called, “The Grand Finale: Book of Techniques.”

Am Sonntag Nachmittag (27. November 2011 in Hamburg) werden Julie und ich gemeinsam einen Workshop mit dem Namen “The Grand Finale: Book of Techniques” – also Das Große Finale: Buch der Techniken” unterrichten.

BookOfTechniques
Use this book as an art journal, scrapbook, or simply a beautiful reference for all of the cool techniques you’ll learn using gesso, gel medium, acrylic paint, and PanPastels (and a special thank you to PanPastel for coming on board as a sponsor of our Mixed Media Circus).  These are some of our favorite supplies and we’ll teach you our favorite techniques using them!  We’ll create texture, play with simple resist techniques, and experiment with paint!  Not only will we share tons of techniques with you, but we will go over all sorts of useful information about these products and give you some easy do’s and don’ts for when you head home!

If you’d like to sign up (we’re just a little less than half full right now), you can find all of the information here.

Layout: Muchier

This is the second layout that didn’t make the cut for my article in Somerset Memories The Zen State of Art- but I still love it a lot- cause it has a lot of meaning for me.

Canvas Corp Guestdesigner – Giftbag and two layouts

For a very dear friend I created this little uplifting layout using some of the gorgoeous Canvas Corp Papers and Tag and Cork.

EverythingFairy_01

I love the Kraft Paper as well as the wonderful script paper- so many fun things you can create with them.

As other friends created layouts too I created a little bag out of a 12×12 inch Canvas Sheet by Canvas Corp.

LoveLaughLifeBag01

As the canvas is actually two 12×12 sheets sewn together I was able to simply cut off a stripe and after painting it with different acrylic paints and media I used the Linnen String to make bag for the layouts.

LoveLaughLifeBag02

For people like me that are actually not great in sewing a good way to make a gift bag :)Für Leute wie mich, die eigentlich nicht so gut Nähen können, ist das eine gute Möglichkeit eine Geschenktasche zu machen :)

LoveLaughLifeBag03

And last but not least a Layout also using the gorgeous Canvas Corp Papers.

funTimes

I used the Kraft paper and the Embossed Rose paper which I had painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glazes and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I also used the Burlap String and the cute little Clothespins. For the Title I used one of the awesome Chalkboard Cards.

Have a wonderful day!Einen wunderschönen Tag Euch!

Canvas Corp Guestdesigner – Burlap Canvas and a Vase

Burlap is such a great material to use – and I really loved the little burlap canvas by Canvas Corp. Since I also had this Tiny Chair to use for a project I got an idea.

TinyChair_01Small

I painted the burlap canvas with Golden Mica Flakes, attached the Chair, lightbulb and the Linnen String and a Cork Circle.

TinyChair_02Small

As I had used up the Canvas Corp Cork Circles I had the cute glass container they come in as a left over.

FlowerVase_01Small

I simply used some Japanese Washitape around it and then used some of the Canvas Corp Burlap String. It is a great way to recycle and reuse the amazing packaging too.
