Description

An original mixed media painting by Nathalie Kalbach, signed in the lower right.

“A Piece of Pie” is an original painting made with spray paint, acrylic paint, gouache, collage, and markers on canvas. Nathalie was inspired by her Strolls through the Hood in Jersey City for this mixed media painting, and specifically an abandoned building in her hood that looks like a piece of pie when you look at the satellite view. The history of this building is unknown to Nathalie, although real estate records indicate that it is sold every few years for not too much money. Someone gets a piece of gentrification pie when that happens. The building is an interesting landmark nevertheless and Nat captures its prominence in the community through bright colors and a lively backdrop.

Piece measures 10×10″
