Description
An original mixed media painting by Nathalie Kalbach
“2 Tallest” is an original painting in acrylic paint, acrylic ink, spray paint, and marker on canvas. Nathalie captures two neighboring states (NY and NJ), two gorgeous skylines (New York City and Jersey City), two very tall buildings and a whole lot of unspoken tension between the two. Although geographically separated by just the width of a river, New York City and Jersey City have a relationship that rivals the ups and downs of a Hollywood couple. Nathalie’s rendering celebrates that complexity from a safe and very picturesque distance – the beautiful view from the ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty to be exact. This scene is inspired by a series of photos she has taken over the years, including some from way back in 2000 when she first visited New York City and never thought she would live here!
This gorgeous scene is rendered in soothing shades of blues and greens, and offers a pulled back, serene take on a very busy, urban area. Enjoy the sky and the water and the chance to view one of the lovliest skylines in the world, minus the noise and the crush of the crowds.
