Bio

Nathalie Kalbach is a self-taught mixed media artist, Her vibrant works in different paint mediums and collage materials lies in the heart of urban subject matter, with a particular emphasis on the ever-changing dynamics of city life. Nathalie’s art incorporates research and storytelling into her paintings, creating thought-provoking narratives that invite viewers into a rich and immersive visual experience.

Born in Germany, Nathalie has called Jersey City, NJ, home since 2013. Initially a paralegal, she discovered art as a sanctuary from the pressures of her demanding day job. This led her to leave the legal profession and become a full-time artist

Her work has been licensed by several respected companies, and she has been published in numerous art publications. From September 2014 until October 2015 she was a sponsored artist/brand ambassador for Liquitex. In 2017, Nathalie published her book, “Artful Adventures in Mixed Media – Art and Techniques inspired by Observation & Experience.” Through art workshops, DVDs, and retreats across several continents, she has consistently strived to spark creativity in her many students.Nathalie’s art has been featured in a range of exhibitions, including solo and group shows in both the U.S. and Germany.

Nathalie teaches mixed media, painting, general craft workshops, and classes and provide product demonstrations at stores, trade and consumer shows, worldwide. She taught team-building workshops for J.P. Morgan in Luxembourg and for Google in NYC, U.S.

Nathalie offers online workshops through this web site. She also taught online workshops for Sketchbook Skool, Wanderlust, Blue Bazaar, Kits & Pieces, Scrap-Tastic, and CraftEdu.com. She taught Live-U-Stream classes for Live with Prima Marketing and for Tattered TV – Educator Style.

Nathalie is the founder and sole organizer of the annual Creative JumpStart Summit, launched in 2012 which ran until 2022, an online platform for artists to share what inspires them to be creative with 1200 to 1500 students annually. During the month of January subscribers/participants viewed a video featuring an Artist of the Day. Each artist demonstrated techniques and explained his/her/their personal approaches to creativity.
