Description
An original mixed media painting by Nathalie Kalbach, signed in the lower right.
In 1922, Katherine Tennant, daughter of Judge George G. Tennant, exchanged vows in her Queen Anne home. The wedding was a splendid affair, with palms, autumn foliage, orchids, and yellow chrysanthemums adorning the venue. A string orchestra played as Katherine walked down the aisle in a modest white crepe satin gown with lace details, carrying a bouquet of lilies of the valley and white orchids. I can just imagine the house blooming with love and flowers on that day.
This painting was part of the “Sidewalk Stories” Exhibition at the Museum of Jersey City History.
Acrylic Paint, Marker and Spray Paint on a 10″ x 10″ deep canvas
