In the mornings I play in my art journal to get myself into the creative groove and break the ice – so to speak- and get ready to paint. I recorded and fast forwarded my morning ritual – and hope you enjoy it. Take it as what it is – a morning art journal play- not a tutorial :)

So this video totally inspired me – to order the urban scribbles set! I’ve wanted it for a while, can’t wait to play with it when it arrives! Thanks for sharing your gifts, Nat!

What a cool way to use stencils! I never have any success using stencils. I must be trying to use too much paint, because they never come out clean. Doh!

Glad you liked it :) Yes, the problem is usually too much paint. That is why I like using a cosmetic sponge – I dab the paint on and dab the paint off- so that almost no paint is on the sponge – the less paint the crisper the stenciled image :)

Love this video – great ideas for adding and subtracting paint with the stencil and baby wipes for layers

What FAB way to start my day – with YOU Nat. This was so fun to watch and it turned out so neat. To me – you are the Queen of Skylines – so it was pure joy to watch you create this “cityscape” all over your pages. And then your sentiment just made me think of all the places around your city you have shared with us – thinking that you have walked all the streets that you just painted!!!!! Thanks bunches for starting my day and weekend with a huge smile. XXj.

I just loved this! Your talent for layering is wonderful…and I especially love it because I struggle with blue and green…this is so pretty! I need to learn to use those two colors more often. Thanks for the awesome share! xx Rae

Rae – queen of colors and layering- thank you so much for your sweet words :) I cannot believe you struggle with blue and green – I live for these colors- LOL. But I know what you mean, we are often so tied in with our color choices it is hard to break out.

Nathalie, love your morning sharing. Plenty of aha moments – like no need to ink stencil just use baby wipes. I know this but tend to forget. And I love owning Urban scribble – I grew up in Manhattan so skyline is special. I didn’t realize that I can print detailed stamp on top of foam stamp – that it lines up. Realized this when I watched Frugal Crafter video using it to make a card. All good!!!

JoAnn, glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you will share with me some time what you made with the Urban Scribble. I do have a couple videos up on how to use the stamps – for example here: http://nathaliesstudio.com/category/video/rule-of-three/ There are so many possibilities.
