just saying ;)

(part of the Über*Media – PanPastel Workshop)
Have a gorgeous day :)
In one of my Layout-Workshops from last year I taught how to create those Acrylic Canvas Flowers and I thought I should share with you :)
Take a Claudine Hellmuht canvas sheet and put several drops of 2-3 different acrylic paints on it – drops’ size about a pea
Take a brayer and roll the colors out – mixing them – this gives the surface also a nice texture
Let dry- it may crinkle and roll together- that is fine- don’t worry too much about this.
After the Canvas Sheet dried cut out three circles – 2 smaller ones, one bigger one . Also cut approximately 6 stripes each 3 cm / 1.2 inch wide. Peel off the protection backing of the stripes, fold the stripes in the middle lenthwise and stick together. You now have a thin stripe with painting on each side.
Glue the end of one stripe to the middle of one of the cut out canvas circles. Press down hard and then start twisting the canvas stripe in a circle around the center froming a nice flower. Use the glue here and there to make it stick. Cut off peaking out circle piece on the edge if necessary.
Place some peals and crystals on top and place it the flowers on a layout- voila :)

It´s a good idea, I´ll try. Thanks for the tutorial.
Lo is beautiful, I like very much the background.
Thanks for sharing, paint queen!
Yup, I definitely need a brayer too, coz I want to do one of these flowers now!
what a great idea! I love making backgrounds with a brayer. Never thought of this. Going to try it with paper first, :) thanks for sharing Nat.
This is fantastic! LOVE how it looks!!! Great way to make the flower totally yours!!! LOVE that photo in the layout as well- too cute!
Love the tutorial…you have simplified the technique!
aww! What a sweet photo and love the flower and tutorial :)
Do you have a cat? Well- if so you know the Cat in the box thing, right? I actually did a layout about this back in 2007 – hehehe- funny to see that my style is really different there.
My Box My Castle – 2007
So having this in mind- I really love the videos by Simon’s Cat – and this one totally cracked me up again- so I’m sharing it with you- have fun :)

Have a wonderful day :)
Habt einen tollen Tag :)
Sehr lustig!
Hahahaha – oh man I miss Niles….not that I don’t miss you, but yo have to admit he looks way cheekier and cuter in a box..tee hee
Still loving this layout too!!
bwaahahaha- you made me laugh – LOL _ yes he looks way cheekier and cuter in a box ;)
Funny video…my puppy loves to play in the empty laundry basket.
Wow…that LO is different from your current style. Always fun to see how our art grows. Have a beautiful day Nat!
What a sweet LO..love your kitty!
Here is another layout I created for the Prima booth for CHA 2011. The pictures are …before the sunburn on Hawaii- LOL . My vacation there was devided in before and after …hehehe.
It is created with the beautiful Alla Prima Collection- yum yum.
Ich möchte sofort wieder zurück ….
Where would you like to be at this moment for a vacation?
An welchem Ort wärest Du jetzt gerne in diesem Moment im Urlaub?
oooh…I want to visit the seychellen…NOW :)
Oh I have never been there- that would do it for me too :)
Great LO and I’d love to vacation in Hawaii someday :)
This LO is so different from what I’ve come to expect from you and yet it is perfect for the subject…relaxed and having a mellow time!
I would like to be with my neighbors at Disney World in Florida right now or in France since I’ve never been there.
ohohh France is so beautiful -you would love it there! But Florida is now mentioned the second time ;) I can see why- I have been only in the Panhandle though so far.
Right now I would want to be in Florida, and lucky me I leave the 14th to go there :)
ohh that is a good one- I wish you a wonderful vacation!!!
Thoughts are a part of my monthly newsletter – they are usually something that is in my mind , they start unreflected and entangled but writing them down help me often to understand and collect them. It is a dear and regular part of my newsletter – so I thought I would share with you once in a while some that I had written in former newsletters. The following is from my January 2011 Newsletter after I just decided to quit my job as a paralegal:
“One of the biggest obstacle on living my dream – being a full time artist and workshop teacher, was fear. Fear of the future, to let loose of something that I was certain about. A secure job, income and day. I have been dreaming about being an artist and workshop teacher as a main profession for a long time but my fear was constantly talking to me “What if you are not successful?” “How dare you?”.
I still think that this fear was good and helpful in the beginning – it forced me to get more informations, to think about the points that actually fear me and then I started thinking about how I could handle those points. And the fear got smaller the more information I collected. My heart told me I would be ok- even if it won’t work all the way I imagine it. There are always possibilities!
Yes – there is still uncertainty if all works out but the fear got replaced by knowing that whatever happens this change is going for the better as I’m finally in the first time in my life doing what I really want to do. I’m not asking for brilliance or success right now…I just want to keep this “thing” going. I’m aware that not trying will make me more unhappy than failing – since I will never know if my dream might have become true in the end.
So, to say it again…the key to change is to let go of fear…get over this resistance and just keep going to fullfill your dreams!”
Reading this again – I have to say- I was right about the fact that what happened after I quit my job made me all in all happier. Other fears are crawling up now- the ones asking me again “How Dare You” – time to let them go :)

Have a wonderful day
Thanks for posting this, and also thanks for posting Tracy – absolutely love her. If you haven’t seen her live on stage yet, you should go and do that. She’s an inspiration!
Good for you! Keep on going Nathalie! You’re an inspiration!
ooooh! I love Tracey Chapman! Awesome…awesome…
You are such an inspiration and this message is one I plan to keep telling myself..until :)
I love this song and I for one am glad that you trusted yourself and got through the fear…more scrappy goodness in the world as you do more workshops Nat!
a wonderful fearless day to you too, great to read this again ;)
That Cocoa Daisy kit is really yummie- with the wonderful weather right now it feels so fitting with it’s colors- warm and golden :)
Enjoy Live
go outside and enjoy what ‘s going on right now- it is beautiful :)
I used the tissue paper in the kit and applied to the background. I also used a stencil and molding paste and then stamped over with this really cool cocoa Daisy Stamp- love that stamp.

It is always a treat teaching with Birgit- we have so much fun together- so I thought I could use those pictures from this year at Scrapbook Werkstatt in Frankfurt.
Used a Crafter’s Workshop Stencil and Acrylic Paint for the background.
My favorite part of autumn is sitting outside in the sun and drinking a tea looking at the changing colors of the trees . What is your favorite thing about this season?
Awesome Nat! these are beautiful!
Nat these are fantastic. Love the colors and the chevron on first one is yum.
I really like the feeling of ENJOY…and I also like to walk around outside and see the change of colors. We have had an Indian summer her in NH for sure (with temps in the high 70’s for a number of days). Fair time here as well with all the yummy food that is available to eat!
Gorgeous layouts, Like Sandra I adore the first one….your roof top terrace is the best place in the world to chill :))
Enjoy the late summer
Tolle Layouts, besonders das erste gefällt mir richtig, richtig gut, das macht Laune! :)
