LO: We Keep It Special

Wowsers- the summer came back full force this weekend. We did a nice bicycle tour yesterday and headed out to my friend Antje wo had a summer party in her garden. It was magic and relaxing :-)

*We Keep It special*

Journaling: For our 5th wedding anniversary we traveled to London and had a wonderful dinner at Jamie Oliver’s Restaurant “15”. It was a special evening and we enjoyed the meal and US very much. :-)
August 2008

Supplies: Rose Moka Apel de la Nature Papers and Stickers, Prima Marketing Chipboard Letters, Hambly Screen Print Overlay, Signo Pen and Markers, Acrylic Paints.

I’m wishing you a wonderful sunday. We will have a BBQ today on our roof terrace – …”Meat is my vegetable” this weekend – LOL (this is a book title from a German author – so the joke might be weird for non-Germans :-) )

“We” are also five this August. Our anni is the 9th, and also happens to be a Public Holiday – every year. The name of the holiday is women’s day, to honour & respect the women of our country. We mostly don’t give each other gifts – and this year I took a ride behind my hubby on his motorrad…. My bravery was his gift. The lunch meal in a cool outdoor caef was my gift. A Memory to keep. xxXX

Dear Creating Keepsakes or an open Letter

my name is NatHalie Kalbach and I’m pretty sure you have no idea who I am. Well – I won’t bore you with some facts about my overly under appreciated scrapbooking skills (lol). Let me  just tell you the fact that I’m a person who fights for the right spelling of her name since elementary school . I have school reports, certificates, newspaper clips, IDs and other important documents with my name spelled wrong – and let me assure you – it had been a hassle sometimes with authorities. I have seen a lot of different takes on my name…and there is always an H missing. Natalie, Natali, Nataly. I have no clue why my poor H is so being so neglected.

I know, I know- if you even read till here you might wondering why Im telling you this. I will come to the point.

When I opened your August issue I saw this

My first thought was… ah …another international Nat…then I thought…oh…Kalbach – and then it dawned on me…you meant me. I was torn between the mournig for the missing H and the happiness for this second time I got the Nod.

So here is the deal…I would be really ok with an missing H if you would just publish me once-  really! I mean – that is a compromise, don’t you think?

Well…one can hope ;-)

Yours natHHHHHHalie Kalbach

DT: Kits & Pieces September Kit English Lesson

The Kits&Pieces September  Kits are really beautiful – I had a hard time to make a decision between the English Lesson Kit and the Summer Vacation Kit. The awesome stamp designed by Julie Balzer made me choose the English Lesson Kit finally.

Und so sieht es aus/and this is what it looks like

Detail:

And here is my first Layout with the Kit – hehehe ;)

*Superstars*

Journaling: Common – You have to admit: If we weren’t past the age we could be the Stars of a casting show. :-)

More layouts will be following the next days – I wish you a gorgeous friday!

Review ScrapScene E-Book: Mini Book Projects

This book can be purchased at scrapscene.com and costs 21.95 $ as a downloadable pdf.file. It has 43 pages and you can either read it on your computer or print it out.

The book includes eleven different mini book projects plus an extra chapter about binding techniques and printable patterns and templates.

All of the mini book projects are described with a photo of the project itself and start with a short description as what inspired this special project or where the idea came from. They also include a material list, very detailed step by step instructions including photos and tips and inspirations for other similar projects. Along there are also instructions for extra embellishments that are included in the mini books.

From how to create an altered book art journal to a painted cloth mini book, from a fabric mini book to creating a book made out of scraps. From a photo keeper to polymer super mini book: There are eleven books included that let your creative juices flowing.

I have to admit that I’m not creating a lot of mini books – but this book really made me want to create one right away. I was so inspired by those projects. The painted cloth mini book really touched me and is breathtaking. It is my favourite mini book in this issue and I positively want to create one myself.

Another feature of this book that I really liked is that it explains shortly different binding techniques. This list gives you a brief idea to how you can add some oomph and the binding to your mini album.

I really like this book – the projects are beautiful, inspiring and unique. Definitely a good investment if you love mini books or want to get new ideas and if you don’t mind purchasing an electronic book which you either have to read on your screen or have to print out at extra costs.

Layout: Abba???

Today our neighbors get married. So yesterday night we and some other neighbors decorated the hallway of our appartment building and tried to do it secretley. That was so much fun and a bit like being back in school again – when the light went off we giggled and when someone entered the door we giggled, until the entering person joined us too and giggled with us. It is a wonder that the bride and groom didn’t notice the whole procedure – LOL

And here is a layout from an afternoon which was filled with giggle giggle a go go also – LOL

*ABBA???*

sorry – taken down for publication

Ich wünsche Euch einen wunderbaren Donnerstag!

Wishing you an amazing Thursday!
