Tattered Angels: Mini Canvases Part I

I have been busy the last couple weeks and one of my assignments was to create some decoration for the Tattered Angels Booth at the Knallende Kars Dagen  in The Netherlans where I was the last days. I created a lot of canvases- so – here is part one :)

*Time Flies*

*Home Sweet Home*

*Sing*

*Play*

*Wisdom*

*Beauty*

*Power*

*Queen of the day*

*Don’t be Crabby*

*King of the day*

More to come :)

Layout: Crazy Fun

Just for fun.

*Crazy Fun*

Journaling: Brick Lane Market is so inspiring and crazy! I try to go everytime we are in London. London June 2009

Supplies: Anthropologie Color Book Cover, Golden Montana Spray Paints, selfmade stencils, Tattered Angels STencils, Sassafrass lass Border, Prima Centers, October Afternoon Letter Stickers, 7Gypsies Tag, 3L Scrapbook Adhesives Photo Tape

I created my own stencils – trees and circles and used also some Tattered Angels’ Stencils and spraypainted over them on top of a colorbook cover. I sewed down the Borders.

I wanted to reflect the crazyness of this place in my background – graffiti-like.
I guess I will never ever see this layout again since it was just kept by a magazine that requested this layout but just doesn’t care enough to tell their submitting people when their layouts were published nor to send them the complimentary issues nor to send them back the layouts. Somebody else had shown me that my other layout I had sent in at the same time was published- and I haven’t even gotten that one back. So maybe it was published- maybe not – I don’t care- here I share :)

Wishing you an amazing day!

Hope Wallhanger

This wallhanger was actually inspired by the “Wizard of Oz” and the scene in the Poppy Field :)

*Hope Wallhanger*

“We must hurry and get back to the road of yellow brick” symbolizes the Key for Hope for me. The girls must hurry back to the road of art, light and music etc.

Supplies: eMOTions Paper by Nat Kalbach, Vintage Wire Hanger, Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas, Liquitex Clear Gesso, Eco Green Crafts Acrylic Paints , Eco Green Crafts Paris Trunk Dye Inks, Oil Pastels, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Ranger’s Grungeboard, Tattered Angels Crepe, My Little Shoebox Letter Stickers, Crafty Secret Fairy Sheet, SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L™.

Techniques: I used clear gesso on the sticky back canvas and added texture to it with a comb and an old small lid. After it dried I used Eco Green Craft Acrylic Paint – thinned down and added it to several spots, after dried I used the Dye Inks. For the Grungeboard Circles I used a mixture of Dye Inks and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and adhered them to the canvas. I fringed the edges of the canvas and applied the piece to the eMOTions Paper, added some of the words and painted lightly poppy petals around the grungeboard circles. I sprayed the Crepe Ribbon with Glimmer Mist and ruffled it in a way that the girls mounted on Foam Pads would look as standing on it. After applying the Letters and attaching the folded grungeboard wings I sprayed over the surface again with Tattered Angels Golden Glimmer Mist to unify the look.

Layout: Hiking Reward *InfoCrea*

Can you believe that summer is almost over? I have a hard time to think about this! Here is a layout that I created with a photo from an amazing hike in Zion Nationalpark last year.

I love the color combo of pink and orange – so the wonderful Herbier Collection was great to use for this! And the gorgeous Transparency from the Baigneuses Nostalgie Collection gave it a great finish.

Have a wonderful day!

Tattered Angels Glaze Resist

Tattered Angels Glaze makes for a great resist. If you apply it first and let it dry and then use Glimmer Mist or Chalkboard on top – the Glaze will resist it. So it makes for some fun techniques. Like this one.

Photos: London Trip

We had a wonderful time in London celebrating our anniversary. The only downside is that I got sick the last day and spent the whole day in the hotel room – let me just say the trip home wasn’t too pleasant. But I will only share the fun pix with you :)

*Beautiful Clouds out of plane window*

*St. Paul’s – our hotel was right there*

*on our way to Tate Modern – St. Paul’s in the background*

*Tate Modern Love*

this installation was called Mixed Media- so fun:

*Brick Lane Market and Spitalfield Market ….ohhhhh yummie*

yummie Bagel – the place is always booming

some people dancing swing on the street- love it

*peek*

* Temple Church – closed this weekend :( *

*Walk on the waterfront*

J. had made a reservation at a very nice restaurant L’Autre Pied – we had a very yummie 7 course dinner and enjoyed a good range of wonderful wines that were part of the tasting session. Thanks hubs for this wonderful weekend :)

Have a good start into your week :)
