Nach einer wirklich stressigen Woche – viel Arbeit, viel zu tun – war dann Freitag endlich ein freier Nachmittag angesagt und wie hatte ich mich drauf gefreut! Und es war aber auch ein schöner Tag – erfolgreich sozusagen! Zunächst ging es zum Schuster- dem besten meiner Meinung nach hier in Hamburg – ist Euch schon aufgefallen, dass die sozusagen fast ausgestorben sind? Ein Blick auf meine neuen Schuhe, die mich schmerzen. Ja, ich weiß, so hoch schauen sie gar nicht aus – aber ich sag Euch meine Fußballen schmerzen nach drei Metern und bewege mich nur noch wie ein Zombi durch die Straßen. Kein Thema, sagt er – kürzen wir – nicht zu viel – schön mach ich das und ich glaube ihm!!! Auf’s Wort.
After a really stressy week -lot’s of work- lot’s to do – I was presented with an off afternoon on friday- and boy, was I happy! And it was quite a good day – successful! First of all I went to the shoemaker – the best one I know in Hamburg – because seriously – I don’t know how it is in the States but here in Hamburg shoemakers are an endangered species! My new shoes which are pretty high for my standards ….yes I know …they don’t look that high – were hurting me immensly! I could move a couple feets and then my pads were hurting like crazy and I moved like a Zombie through the streets. No problem -the shoemaker said – we will cut a bit off – not too much – but I will do this right – and I trust him!!!
Und als ich dann beim Schumacher rauskam, fiel mein Blick auf einen Laden, den ich bislang völlig übersehen hatte Photo Trouvèe. Nicht nur eine grandiose Photoausstellung dort – sondern auch eine unerschöpfliche Sammlung diverser alter Photos, die man auch käuflich erwerben kann. Das Konzept ist alte Amateurphotos und Photo-Gegenwartskunst zusammenzubringen. Ich blieb eine Stunde dort und adoptierte die obigen Personen in meine Familie :-)
And when I stepped out I discovered a little store I never recognized before Photo Trouvée. Not only an amazing photo exhibition in there- but also a huge collection of vintage photos, which you can buy. The concept is to bring old amateur photos and contemporary photo art together. I stayed there for an hour and adopted the shown persons into my family :-)
Und dann besuchte ich meine Freundin Katja, die Kostümbildnerin ist und mir bereits mehrere wunderschöne Kleider und Hosen geschneidert hat auf einen Kaffee…und ratet mal…bald werde ich eine schöne neue maßgeschneiderte warme, gemütliche, aber elegante Jacke mein eigen nennen können :-)
And then I visited my friend Katja who is a costume director and sewed me several amazing dresses and pants and had a coffee with her…and guess what…soon I will have a costum made new warm cozy, but elegant jacket :-)
Zum krönenden Abschluß des Nachmittages bekam ich Besuch von Liz und den kleinen Mäusen. War super schön! Habt Ihr Hamburger eigentlich den tollen Workshop gesehen, den Liz nächsten Monat geben wird? Schaut mal rein – es lohnt sich in jedem Falle!!!
Last but not least Liz and her little cuties visited me. It was really wonderful. She will be giving an awesome workshop next month – so I’m enabling my German readers ;-)
Oh und weil wir gerade dabei sind – meine Freundin Cat hat die grandiosesten Halloween Karten gemacht- die man auch käuflich erwerben kann!!!!
Oh and since I’m enabling already – my friend Cat just created those beautiful beautiful Halloween cards – and you can buy them!!!!

Is ja auch ganz schön was los bei Dir – freitagnachmittags. Ich hab mir die “Höhere Schule” der Schuhe mit ca. 30 abgewöhnt – seither leb ich gelassener. ;-) Dein ZEN is beeindruckend!
