Layout: I have a dream

Here is a layout I totally forgot to upload – but now ;-)

*I have a dream*

*Details*

For the layout I painted part of the photo with gesso and applied different alcohol inks to it. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard and cut it to 8,5×11 inch, painted it with an acrylic paint. I stamped with bubble wrap and crackle paint. After it dried I traced a KI Number Lace on it and then painted the traced number with a different kind of acrylic paint. After that was dry I peeled off the first layer of the corrugated cardboard on the left side. I attached a Making Memories Journaling Spot, a dress-tag and glimmer mist treated grungeboard pieces. At the end I attached the Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters.

Tomorrow I will give you an update about the workshop in the Netherlands this weekend! Wishing you a gorgeous day from Amsterdam!

My new Love: Pigments

In the last time some of you told me how much you like my acrylic colors and how intense those are. Well – this has a reason :-) I found a new Love: Pigments. The colors are so amazing and intense, it is cheap and easy to use – and it is pure fun. Only my allergic asthma is not doing to well while I’m working with this stuff. Usually I mix the pigments with acrylic painting medium and almost all layouts the last weeks do contain pigments. Go ahead and try it!

Wünsche Euch ein farbenfrohes Wochenende :-)

Wish you a colorful weekend :-)

Blog Love: Inspired by Amelie

There is a new challenge blog out – and the idea is awesome – inspired by “Amelie”. I so love this movie – it is one of my favorite ones – so if you haven’t seen this movie yet – get it!!!

*How Funny is She?*

I love the scene where the little dudes on the photo booth photos talk to each other about waht they think about Amelie. It is a quite funny conversation.

My journaling reads:
Dude 1: Who? Nat? Mhhhh – nice…very nice..cute?
Dude 2: Of course Nat – stupid! She is ok – you’ll like her.
Dude 3: bwahahahaha – she is quite funny – really …she can make you laugh your a## off :-)

Layout: Ayla

This cute little girl is was also sent with the photoswapp with Jen Jockisch. It is so much fun to scrap other photos and on top Ayla reminded me on the books I had really loved to read as a kid – do you know them?

Layout: Enjoy the View – Screenprinting

This layout was created for a Designteam Call. One of the tasks was to show a new technique and do a tutorial for this technique. My video wasn’t watched – I guess there was no real interest. Well…but at least now I can share it with you and I hope you like the layout and technique :-)

*Enjoy the View*

The Bambi was screenprinted. The photo shows my beloved Uncle Walter in the mountains in the 60s. More in the video.

Supplies: Acrylic Paints and Pigments, Lace, Cardboard, Cardstock, Kristina Contes Paper, Hambly Screenprints Overlay and Rub ons, Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters.

I just wanted to reply shortly to your comment on my blog:

“I just wanted to comment because I know you and Jeanette had talked at length about her inability to log into the video when it was still private for the submission.”

We did not talk in length about it. I had sent her my submission including my link to the video stating that since the video is private she would need to log in to her Youtube account – user scrapinstyletv – as this is the user I only invited to watch the video. As I could clearly see that JJ hadn’t logged in since she got my submission I sent her again an email asking her if she got the link and that she needs to log in. She replied that she got it and that she will watch my video.
She sent me the rejection email stating she had never seen my video, I told her I’m disappointed, she told me shortly that she had so many projects that she couldn’t figure it out further due to time issues. I left it like this.

“I know you sent her all the pictures and instructions since the link to the video was not working during that time, so I just wanted to check and see if perhaps there was a miscommunication between the two of you!”

    I don’t think there was a miscommunication.

“There was definitely interest in your project, which is why she had asked for the stillshots since she couldn’t view the video! So while the video wasn’t watched due to the link not working, the technique was definitely duly noted!”

She did not ask for stillshots – you must have gotten the wrong information . I had sent a pdf. file along which was just meant as a short tutorial. I have never complained that my technique itself wasn’t noticed – I only – and I think I have the right to do so – said how sad I am that my video wasn’t even watched, while about other videos there were comments right away on the private yahoo board. Regarding the time effort I think you can totally understand that this is sad.

“Unfortunately there were a lot of really amazing projects submitted and not all of them could be chosen. I hope that you can email her to clear up any misunderstanding!”

I’m pretty sure that all the projects were amazing- and again…I have never complained that I wasn’t chosen – of course I’m sad about this – but that is not my main issue. I don’t think I have to mail JJ – for me this is clear as mud – if she thinks there is a misunderstanding she is welcome to email me. But for me this is a closed case. I wasn’t good enough or not what she was looking for and that is something I have to leave with. I can still share my dissappointment that my video was not watched – regarding the fact that we were asked to go through several rounds and do a lot of effort.

I’m sure you just wanted to clearify this in a positive way.

    Have a gorgeous day
