Altered: Hansel and Gretel

If you are from Germany you pretty much grew up with the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel but I’m sure most of the world knows this fairy tale :) Here is their house ;)

HanselGretel_01

I had so much fun altering the wooden house and dressing Hansel and Gretel :)

HanselGretel_02

For the roof and on the Pink Paislee Frame I used lot’s of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam – I love that stuff :)

HanselGretel_03

Supplies. Pink Paislee: Bayberry Cottage Paper, Queen Bee Paper, Artisan Elements Frame, 365 Degrees Ribbon ; Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam,  Crackle Medium.

But of course I know this fairy tale and it scared me a little when I was a child. Your Gretel looks more sophisticated than the one I remember. You are making some wonderful non-LO items these days. Did you decide where the mirror is going? (ha ha)

Altered: Mirror Mirror on the Wall *Tattered Angels*

This big mirror was found in a little store in my neighborhood for 16 EUR (about 22 Dollars) – white it was- and I knew I had to use it for a project and spice it up :)

nat_TA_MIrror

I painted the frame of the mirror with clear gesso first as it was more like a supersmooth surface and I wanted the Chalkboard to really grab on it.

mirror5

I spread some Golden Goddess Glimmer Glam on parts of the mirror.

nat_TA_MIrror_03

Then I used my favorite new stamps the Tattered Angels Architectural Border Stamps and stamped on tissue paper, decoupaged it to the frame and then sprayed over the frame with different Colors of Chalkboard and Glimmer Mist.

mirror4

After that dried I applied Crackle Medium on some parts of the frame as well as onto the mirror itself. After that dried I used Glam and Glaze and Irridiscent Gold Glimmer Mist and finished it all up.

nat_TA_MIrror_02

I cut out the words from the Simple Sayings Tag after I had sprayed them with Glimmer Mist too and attached them to the mirror.

Wishing you a gorgeous day!

Altered: Winter Wishes *Tattered Angels*

Our theme for the Tattered Angels blog for December is glass – so I altered this little glass container from Ikea which was once a spice container. I thought it would be a fun little gift for some neighbors. It is filled with loose Winter Tea.

WinterWishes01

I used Tattered Angels Tinsel Town Glimmer Glam and painted the glass. I used several layers. Then I used the Helmar Crackle Medium over it and after the cracks appeared I polised the whole bottle with Pewter Glaze so the cracks would stand out even more. I sprayed the glass pebbles as well as the Prima Flower with Mint Chocolate Chip Chalkbaord and added some of the Tinsel Town too. I used the “Winter Wishes” Stamp from the beautiful new Tattered Angels Winter Stampset and stamped this on a piece of paper.

Have a gorgeous day today :)

Advent Wreath *Tattered Angels*

For this years’ advent wreath I used a plant literally translated called “barbwire” in Germany (LOL – I think it is quite funny how unflowery our language sometimes is). This plant has a pretty cool look ….kind of like….barbwire ;) and makes for a pretty fun attachment for the wreath.

Adventswreath_01

I sprayed the plant with Mint Chocolate Chip Chalkboard and also Chalk Chalkboard -it really glimmers and glistens – but it was hard to catch this on photo. I also sprayed the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass and two ornament mirrors with Chalkboard and added Chandelier Glimmer Glam. Inside the wreath and put some glass pebbles that were painted with Lipstick Glam repeating the candle color.

Adventswreath_02

I really like our modern funky advent wreath and can’t wait to lit the candle.

Very good point Cuchy. But especially with the dark colors and the thin cheaper wood it is not a problem. Since Glimmer Mist settles the paint first on the surface – so if you have a dark color you do not need much :)

Vibrant colours and so beautiful. Thanks for the tuto
Just a doubt: Haven’t you used a primer before spraying? Doesn’t the wood absorb too much paint if it’s not primed?

DT Work: Using CD Pockets for creating fun Mail Art *Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L*

As the days get shorter I have more time to prepare invitations and gifts as well as sum mail to send out. I love to send out Mail Art and one of the products from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L I like to use are their CD Pockets. You can actually use them not only for the obvious storing of CD – no – you can do some fun things with them. But see yourself in my video:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V9ixFge8Jk&fs=1&hl=de_DE]

I hope you enjoyed the video and will try out all the fun ways you can use your CD Pockets with.

DT-Work: Door Sign *Tattered Angels*

So as you might noticed :) our theme at Tattered Angels is WOOD this month. One of my projects was new Namesign for our door. I used a wooden board and also a natural wood sticker – which shows a deer.

Doorsign_01

I used the new Winter Glimmer Mist color Gumdrop and Jack Frost for the back and on the sticker I painted a bit Glimmer Glam- Hay Ride and then used Glimmer Mist Tattered Leather on top. I also used some of the new border stamps and spelled our name with the Framed Watch Fonts.

Doorsign_02

It is really fun to use the products on wood. So many possibilities :)

So viele Möglichkeiten :)

Wishing you an amazing day!

If you think you can’t keep up with this deadline, please do not play along – I don’t want any sad faces here!!! Last year one person did not receive her ornament – but it was sent out. It is always a risc here -but I can’t take responsibility. We can only trust each other and trust the mail system. Send me a picture of your ornament by December 1st. After December 15th I will show all the ornaments on my blog :-)

Last year we had 22 participants and you can see all the awesome and different ornaments  here – it’s a lot of fun.
