Mixed Media

Amber Snowflake

Love this new Cocoa Daisy December Kit – it was lot’s of fun to work with it. I had the Main Kit,  Patterned Paper Add On as well as the Frosty Windowpan Add on.

Snow Fire

Last year’s photo from a snow fire in New Jersey when the crazy snow storm started. I loved the background paper but to tune it down a bit I painted it with white acrylic paints and stamped the background to blend it back in a bit again.

I crumbled some of the grey tissue paper in which the kit was packed and used it also to stack up the embellishment.

Home Sweet Home

Well- our kitty is definitely making our home … homely- although with this fresh face he looks more as if he is REALLY annoyed by us being home- LOL.

I painted the stamped chair with some Letraset Markers in the same colors I found on the papers to have the look more unified.

Have a gorgeous day

nat

Tim Holtz’ 12 Tags of Christmas – Tag 2

Loved Tim’s second tag– the frayed canvas layered on grungeboard was a great idea :) I took my own spin as I had a lot of those supplies not handy.

As I don’t have the resist paper he used, I made my own by simply gluing down book paper on the tag and then using Golden Tar Gel over a Snowflake Stencil. This is what comes next for me to all the coating that is used on those resist papers out on the market. But thicker Gel Medium works also very well.  I then painted the background with some watered down white acrylic paint- which looked a bit different from the used Distress Stain of course- but I still like the outcome- it adds some dimension to the tag.

Supplies: Distress Inks, Sizzix Die Tag, Book Paper, Golden Tar Gel, Tattered Angels Snowflake Screen, Golden Gel Medium, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, Untreated Canvas Fabric, Crafter’s Workshop Start Stencil as a Template, Grungeboard, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Tape, Tonic Studio Distress Tools, Texture Hammer, Vintaj Metall Star, Beacon FabriTac, Eco Green Crafts Acrylic Paint, Burlap, German Scraps Border, Prima Rhinestones.

Tomorrow I will show you my newly organized studio :) …well part of it–hehehe. Looking forward teaching tomorrow here in Hamburg – it is going to be fun! Last Workshop of this year in person :)

Wow, you tag looks awesome! Love how you improvise with different supplies! :-).

I just realized that a year ago today I went home to Bad Hersfeld (in Hessen)…. sigh, around the holidays I really get homesick!

Can’t wait to see your craft space, I’m currently re-doing mine too (although my space is small so it’s sort of hopeless :-)

Tim Holtz’ 12 Tags of Christmas – Tag 1

I thought this year I would join Tim Holtz’ 12 Tags of Christmas since with all the planning and finally doing our Mixed Media Circus Event last weekend I’m behind with everything Christmas related…well…besides the last minute advents calendar from yesterday- LOL. But alas no christmas mood yet, no decoration and …sigh…no presents yet. So thanks Tim for getting me into the Christmas mood and doing this tag which will find a home on a present soon ;)

Supplies: Distress Inks, Distress Embossing Ink, Sizzix Die Tag and Embossing Folder , Aidorondack Embossing Powder,Ranger Heat It Tool, Stickels, Glossy Accents, FabriTac, Co’ordinations Cardstock, Tissue Paper, Prima Letters, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, Tonic Studios Distress Tools,  Pink Paislee Mistable Ribbon, Vintaj Beadcap

It wouldn’t be me with a little grunge-y interpretation ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Nat

Double Nuts or handmade title

My sweet friend Julie who comes to visit me in THREE days (squeeeeel) had this challenge at the Cocoa Daisy Crop this weekend on using your own handwriting as titles on layouts. I would say this does not really represent my own handwriting- LOL -but it was fun :)
Image

I used a brush and black acrylic paint as well as a white marker

I love the handmade loook of it- need to practice more :)

Beauty of the Nature

Traveling is something I really love – well you know that huh? One of my favorite trips was going to Yellowstone last year – Soooo beautiful there! And here we go a layout about the beauty of the nature using the Vintage Street Market Family Fun Kit.

Beauty

I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Colors to change the background color and then used a Crafter’s Workshop Template with Modeling Paste and sprayed again. I flicked some Glimmer Glaze on top.

Supplies: Vintage STreet Market Family Fun Papers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Glaze, Lascaux Modeling Paste, Canvas Corp Twine and Cork, PanPastels, Faber Castell Journeling Pen, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Power Tape and 3D Foam Pads

I love how versatile the papers are and that you can also use them in a more grungy than vintagey approach :)

Are you scrapbooking photos about a landscape only also or do you always scrap photos that have people in it?

Have a wonderful day – Euch einen wunderschönen Tag

Trust

I loved creating this layout- I did this when I had a down moment- and what better moment when to scrap right then ;)

TRUST

using some of my favorite Crafter’s Workshop Templates on the background paper, spraiying with Mallard and Timberline Glimmer Mist.

The Basically Bare currogated Cardboard heart was painted with thick layer of Lipstick Glimmer Glam and Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze.

I used some Fern and Monolith Chalkboard Glimmer Mist on top of the Chicken Wire Template and also painted the JiliBean Chipboard letters with Pewter Glimmer Glaze.

For the canvas fabric I used my beloved My StampBox stitching stamp.

And I finally could get myself to use my beloved compass that I found in a fleamarket store…..good thing I have a couple more- LOL

Supplies: Prima Paper, Crafter’s Workshop Templates, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze, Canvas Fabric, My StampBox Stamp, Eco Green Craft Artist Medium, Basically Bare Heart, Canvas Fabric, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Power Tape, Jili Bean Letters, Compass- Vintage

Have a gorgeous day :)

Homedecor Canvas

Lately I have been playing on bigger Canvases – love it – giving me so much more room to play with texture…only…where to put it- LOL. The Canvas was part of an article I wrote about the Canvas Corp. Products in the Fall ScrapArtZine.

For the background I used different kinds of coarse paint media- like gesso with sand and speckeling paste. I sprayed the background with the Limited Fall Edition Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.

Those awesome canvas and bulap banner pieces by Canvas Corp are so fun to play with either as Homedecor times or for an album. I used a Pink Paislee Mistable Screen on top of the canvas banners. The Letters are from Tattered Angels.

For the flower I used some yummie Prima Lace and in the middle- hard to see I placed a self made denim brad. So beautiful how all those products work together :)
