Vor einigen Wochen wurde ich von Prima Hybrid gefragt, ob ich ein Video Tutorial für sie machen wolle – und ich habe ja gesagt, weil Hybrid Scrapbooking auch eine neue Herausforderung für mich ist. Gestern ist es nun im Newsletter erschienen – bin ganz aufgeregt :-). A couple weeks ago I was asked by Prima Hybrid if I would like to do a video tutorial for them – and well I said yes as Hybrid Scrapbooking is a new challenge for me also. Der Crop bei Scrapmuse war grandios -hat so viel Spaß gemacht. Ich habe mich auch gefreut aus Deutschland und der Schweiz Mitglieder begrüßen zu können ;-) Hier nun das Video, das ich dort gestern gezeigt habe – die Layouts hierzu zeige ich später.

Wie versprochen zusätzlich zu meinem Video noch ein Bericht mit Bildern. Freitag ging es los nach Utrecht. Die erste Nacht in der Jugendherberge mit Corinne, Celine, Danielle und Anke war recht kurz. Das verdankten wir vor allem auch den lauten Mit-Gästen – ich habe jedenfalls festgestellt, ich bin alt und Jugendherbergen sind nicht mehr so wirklich meine Lieblingsunterkunft. Übrigens finde ich, gilt dies auch für Männer ab einem gewissen Alter, die alleine unterwegs sind und sich ständig in den Flur stehen und Frauen beobachten – sie bekommen schnell den Namen “Creepy Guy”.

As promised besides my video also a post with the story and photos. Friday we arrived in Utrecht. The first night in the youth hostel I shared a room with Corinne, Celine, Danielle and Anke. It was a really short night which had a lot to do with some other guests there- I for myself figured out that I’m too old to find myself comfy at youth hostels- LOL. Oh and besides: I think men in a certain age should not sleep alone at a youth hostel and stare at women – they are becoming the CREEPY GUY.

Samstag fing es dann mit den Workshops an. Ein Artjournal, ein Papiertütenalbum mit Hambly und ein Layout mit Masking Tape Technik. Hiernach folgte eine schmackhaftes 3-Gänge Abendessen und hiernach ein Crop mit einer Lotterie. Das großartigste waren die Leute- es hat so viel Spaß gemacht alle kennenzulernen und mit allen zu schnacken!

Saturday it started with the workshops. An artjournal, a paperbag album with hambly and a layout with the masking tape technique. Afterwards we had a gorgeous 3 Course dinner followed by a crop with a lottery. The most awesome thing were all the people. It was so much fun to get to know them all and to chit chat!

Am nächsten Tag ging es mit einem Vintage Album, einem Holz-Minialbum und einem Layout mit Background-Technik weiter. Gelernt habe ich nur wenige neue Techniken (zum Beispiel das Auftragen von Alcoholink auf Vintagetapete) – aber nichtsdestoweniger hatte ich unglaublich viel Spaß und ich habe viele Anregungen und Inspirationen mitgenommen. Und außerdem haben mich Corinne und Celine mit vielen neuen Werkzeugen versehen ;-) – Ich werde Euch noch davon erzählen.

The next day was filled with workshops again: a vintage album, a wooden mini album and a layout with a painting background technique. I did only learn a very few new techniques (for example working with alcohol inks on vintage wallpaper) – but nonetheless I had a lot of fun and I got a lot of ideas and inspirations.  And…furthermore Corinne and Celine enabled me with a lot of new tools ;) – I will tell about those later.

Die fertigen Layouts und Alben zeige ich noch – Ihr wisst ja, dass ich ein langsamer Scrapper bin und ich brauche auch immer meinen eigenen Input für meine Sachen ;-)

I will show you my layouts and albums from those layouts – but you all know I’m a very sloooooowwww Scrapper and I need my own input and twist for my work ;-)

Nach den Workshops habe ich mich – bereits krank – auf den Weg nach Amsterdam gemacht, wo mein Mann nebst Freund bereits in einem grandiosen Apartment in der Prinsengracht wartete. Wir haben eine noch eine nette Zeit in Amsterdam verbracht – gefüllt mit der Geburtstagsfeier für Jim, diversen Bar und Brauereibesuchen, dem Besuch des Niederländischen Widerstandsmuseums (unbedingt anzuschauen!) und den üblichen Sightseeingattraktionen. Wir waren schon so oft in Amsterdam, da macht es Spaß auch mal ein paar andere Dinge anzusehen.

After the workshops I went – already sick –  to Amsterdam where my DH and our friend already waited for me in the awesome apartment on Prinsengracht. We had a gorgeous time in Amsterdam – filled with a birthday party for Jim, bars, breweries, the Dutch Resistant Museum (an absolute Must) and some other typical sightseeing attractions. We had been so many times in Amsterdam it was fun to see some different things.

Ein weiteres Highlight war das Treffen mit Daphne von Studio DaphNat – es war so schön! Und natürlich war auch Bincke dabei -so ein süßer Fratz! Danke Daphne, dass Du obwohl ich krank war, gekommen bist- ich hoffe Bincke hat sich nicht angesteckt!

There was another absolute highlight: Meeting Daphne from Studio DaphNat – it was so much fun! And of course she brought Bincke with her – such a cutie! Thank you Daphne for coming although I was sick – I hope I did not infect Bincke!

I will write a longer post with photos about my trip to the Netherlands – the Scrap-a-licious Workshop with Corinne and Celine later – I got so sick in Amsterdam on Sunday evening – I’m still not doing good! Ich liebe Bernie Berlin – Ihre Techniken sind der Knüller und so haben Daphne und ich uns eine weitere von ihr herausgepickt und mit dieser rumexperimentiert. Dieses Mal eine Embossing Technik, die eine wunderbare Struktur auf den Cardstock zaubert und dabei auch die Farben besonders intensiv erscheinen läßt. Muß man in Echt sehen- wirklich!

I love Bernie Berlin – her techniques are amazing and therefore Daphne and I decided once again to try and experiment with one of her techniques. This time it is an embossing technique which gives cardstock a great tactile texture and let the colors pop. You gotta see it in real – really! :-)

Was man braucht- what you need:

Cardstock, Pinsel, Gesso, Heißluftfön, Versamark, durchsichtiges Embossing Puder, Acrylfarben und verschiedene Dinge um Muster auf den Cardstock zu bekommen.

Cardstock, Brushes, Gesso, Heating Gun, Versamark, clear Embossing Powder, acrylic paints and different things to get some patterns onto the cardstock.

Zuerst stempelt man mit Versamark auf bestimmte Muster auf den Cardstock. Hier habe ich schlicht Magic Mesh genommen, den Cardstock damit bedeckt und sodann mit Versamark drübergestempelt.

First of all you stamp certain patterns onto the cardstock. I used Magic Mesh, covered the Cardstock and stamped over it with Versamark.

Hiernach habe ich das Magic Mesh einfach wieder abgezogen und das Embossing Pulver drüber gestreut und sodann mit dem Heißluftfön zum Schmelzen gebracht.

Afterwards I took the Magic Mesh off and applied Embossing Powder over the surface – which I finally heated with the heat gun.

Nun wird dünn mit einem Pinsel Gesso über die Oberfläche gestrichen. Dies führt dazu, dass zum einen die embosste Oberfläche leichter zu bemalen ist und zum anderen, läßt es die Farben später an den erhöhten Stellen mehr in Kraft treten.

Now you apply Gesso to the surface. The surface is easier to paint with gesso applied before and furthermore the colors are popping out more.

Nachdem das Gesso getrocknet ist, kann man mit verschiedenen Acrylfarben über die Oberfläche malen.

After the gesso dried you can paint with different acrylic paints.

Die Farben sind wunderschön und auch die Oberfläche sieht grandios aus!

Those colors are coming out great and the surface rocks!

Ich habe dann auch noch das ganze ausprobiert, in dem ich schlicht das gesamte Versamark-Kissen auf den Cardstock stempelte.

I used the same technique by simply stamping with the whole Versamark-Pad onto the cardstock.

Angemalt mit Metallic-Farben und schließlich mit Wasser verdünnten Perfect Pearls bearbeitet, sieht das Ergebnis aus, wie eine Metallplatte mit verschiedenen Elementen. Mir gefällt es.

Painted with Metallic Paints and with watered down Perfect Pearls the result looks like a metal plate with different elements. I like it .

Eine Technik die einfach ist und viel Spaß macht! Schaut mal, was Daphne für Ergebnisse erzielt hat!
