Starting Wednsday to Thursday night I had a terrible sore throat and a really really bad cough. Everything was swollen and finally yesterday morning- my last day at work before the vacation, my bosses sent me home at 11 o’clock, cause I couldn’t talk anymore and coughed till my stomach was empty again (let’s put it this way).
Von Mittwoch auf Donnerstag bekam ich furchtbare Halsschmerzen und einen schlimmen Husten. Alles war angeschwollen und dann gestern morgen, an meinem letzten Arbeitstag vor dem Urlaub, haben meine Chefs mich um 11 Uhr nach hause geschickt, weil ich nicht mehr reden konnte und mein Frühstück auch ein comeback feierte!
Well – I went straigt to my doctor…who …was closed on a Friday morning (what the heck?). So I went to the next doctor nearby. Well – young guy, fancy schmancy doctor’s room and he totally not into it. I told him that I’m going to fly to the States in a couple days, I told him I suffer…but I made some jokes…you know- I’m not the whiny patient. He looked into my mouth, said …oh just a little cold, little bit of fever and a very light tonsilitis. Get some camomile and gurgle and here is some paracodin for the night, so you can sleep. Ok – you are the boss, doctor.
Also habe ich mich gleich auf den Weg zu meinem Hausarzt gemacht…der..am Freitag morgen geschlossen hatte (wasn das für ein Müll?). Also zum nächsten Hausarzt in der Nähe. Junger, schlecht gelaunter Typ, schicke Praxis- er voll keinen Bock. Ich erzählte ihm, dass ich in den nächsten Tagen die USA fliegen würde und daher meinen Leidensweg gerne verkürzen würde – und natürlich machte ich auch Witze -ich mein…ich bin halt nicht so der Jammertyp. Er schaute in den Hals und meinte, ich hätte einfach nur eine Erkältung und eine ganz kleine Mandelentzündung und Fieber. So nach dem Motto “stell dich nicht so an”. Und dann bekam ich Kamille zum gurgeln verschrieben und Paracodin zum Hustenstillen in der Nacht. Na wenn Du meinst, Doktor…aber ne Erkältung haut mich nicht um!
So this night it was really bad – my tongue was swollen, I coughed my lungs out (the cat kept running back and worth to look at me…while my sweetest husband with some earplugs slept the deepest sleep in the guest room (I love him dearly- so ok :-) ). I got up at 6.30 this morning and went to the emergency room I tell you something- amazing! It took half an hour. I went in, said what I have. They placed me in a room, the doctor came in, made some jokes, looked into my throat, said “ohhh- bad – bad ! Heavy Tonsilitis”. Told me that everything will be good on Tuesday for the flight. Gave me a recipe for antibiotics and then filled out a long paper and told me “Give this later to the other doctor, he needs to know he treated you bad and miscounseld you!”.
Diese Nacht war es dann richtig schlimm, meine Zunge war geschwollen, ich hustete meine Lungen raus (Niles rannte ständig rein und raus um nach mir zu schauen…während mein Liebster mit Ohrstöpseln selig im Gästezimmer schlummerte (Ich liebe ihn ja sehr …also sei es ihm gegönnt :) )Um 6.30 Uhr heute morgen bin ich dann aufgestanden und bin zur Notfallpraxis gefahren. Und wider Erwarten wurde ich grandios behandelt. Das Ganze dauerte eine halbe Stunde. Ich kam rein, sagte was ich hätte, der Doktor kam sofort, schaute in meinen Hals, machte ein paar Witze und sagte dann “uiiih, ganz ganz fiese Mandelentzündung.” Machte mir Mut wegen des Fluges am Dienstag und verschrieb mir Antibiotika. Und dann füllte er einen langen Zettel aus und meinte, den solle ich dem Hausarzt geben, damit der wisse, dass er mich schlecht behandelt habe.
So – it is 8 am now…my hubby still dreams- he has no clue I have been away- I lay in bed and wait for the pharmacy to open and then…cross your fingers all will be good soon and I can fly to the States without pain!
so und nun ist es 8 Uhr …mein Liebster schlummert noch immer und keinen blassen Schimmer, dass ich schon unterwegs war. Und nun warte ich bis die Aphotheke aufmacht und dann…drückt die Daumen, dass alles bald gut ist und ich ohne Schmerzen in die Staaten fliegen kann!

WOW … geiles LO ;-) … und wenn man in Roskilde ist MUSS es regnen und modderig sein … frag mal meinen Mann, der hat dort mit Pearl Jam gespielt 1993 … boah, ist das lange her *grübel*
