This Moment…

Here is another layout I created for the Prima booth for  CHA 2011. The pictures are …before the sunburn on Hawaii- LOL . My vacation there was devided in before and after …hehehe.

It is created with the beautiful Alla Prima Collection- yum yum.

I wanna go back right now….

Ich möchte sofort wieder zurück ….

Where would you like to be at this moment for a vacation?

An welchem Ort wärest Du jetzt gerne in diesem Moment im Urlaub?

Thoughts: The key to change is to let go of fear

Thoughts are a part of my monthly newsletter – they are usually something that is in my mind , they start unreflected and entangled but writing them down help me often to understand and collect them. It is a dear and regular part of my newsletter – so I thought I would share with you once in a while some that I had written in former newsletters. The following is from my January 2011 Newsletter after I just decided to quit my job as a paralegal:

“One of the biggest obstacle on living my dream – being a full time artist and workshop teacher, was fear. Fear of the future, to let loose of something that I was certain about. A secure job, income and day. I have been dreaming about being an artist and workshop teacher as a main profession for a long time but my fear was constantly talking to me “What if you are not successful?” “How dare you?”.

I still think that this fear was good and helpful in the beginning – it forced me to get more informations, to think about the points that actually fear me and then I started thinking about how I could handle those points. And the fear got smaller the more information I collected. My heart told me I would be ok- even if it won’t work all the way I imagine it. There are always possibilities!

Yes – there is still uncertainty if all works out but the fear got replaced by knowing that whatever happens this change is going for the better as I’m finally in the first time in my life doing what I really want to do. I’m not asking for brilliance or success right now…I just want to keep this “thing” going.  I’m aware that not trying will make me more unhappy than failing – since I will never know if my dream might have become true in the end.

So, to say it again…the key to change is to let go of fear…get over this resistance and just keep going to fullfill your dreams!”

Reading this again – I have to say- I was right about the fact that what happened after I quit my job  made me all in all happier. Other fears are crawling up now- the ones asking me again “How Dare You” – time to let them go :)

Have a wonderful day

More Farmer’s Market

That Cocoa Daisy kit is really yummie- with the wonderful weather right now it feels so fitting with it’s colors- warm and golden :)

Enjoy Live

go outside and enjoy what ‘s going on right now- it is beautiful :)

I used the tissue paper in the kit and applied to the background. I also used a stencil and molding paste and then stamped over with this really cool cocoa Daisy Stamp- love that stamp.

*Team Cats*

It is always a treat teaching with Birgit- we have so much fun together- so I thought I could use those pictures from this year at Scrapbook Werkstatt in Frankfurt.

Used a Crafter’s Workshop Stencil and Acrylic Paint for the background.

My favorite part of autumn is sitting outside in the sun and drinking a tea looking at the changing colors of the trees . What is your favorite thing about this season?

Farmer’s Market- or Fall is in the air

Oh this new October Kit called Farmer’s Market by Cocoa Daisy is so yummie. I had lot’s of fun playing with it.

1,2,3

Journaling is: Immer wenn Du denkst es geht nicht mehr, kommt von irgendwo ein Lichtlein her – means more or less- if you think it doesn’t go any further there will be light ;)

I used my Cricut wth a Polka Dot Embossing Template to emboss the American Craft Paper and then cut out the circles.

Reminder

When I was a teenager I used to eat so much fruits -I could barely live without. Nowadays I eat loads of veggies but fruits somehow fell off the plate- that has to change again :)

I love the stamp that is included in the kit. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze to paint some areas and sprayed with Glimmer Mist Mustard Seed on the background.

More to come :)

Es kommt noch mehr :)

Scraptastic 2011 in Belgium

It was such a blast! Events like this just make me warm and fuzzy- LOL…or should I better say feel warm and fuzzy ;) It is the creativity ooze that is feelable in every corner of the workshop rooms, meeting those amazing students, being happy with great organization and hanging out with awesome teachers and friends. I’m tired but happy and so ready to rock the studio today- LOL.

I can’t believe I didn’t take more pictures of the covent that was turned into the hotel where we had the event. It was so cool- but me and my camera had a love-hate relationship this weekend :)

Celine – chica magnifique :) Celine is one of my crushes from back then I started with the technique nerdiness :) Actually she is still one of my crushes- but I won’t tell her- LOL

Birgit my sweet friend and best room mate – thanks for keeping up with my snoring- – hehehehe. Can’t wait to see you so very soon again :) – and Bill and Donna – they are the most down to earth and awesome, warm and fun people to hang around with! I wish we had more time together :) Still laughing about a lot of things- LOL.

my sweet Belgium girls- I had taken so many pictures also of my sweet Danish girls and many other students – but oh boy- did I stink in taking pictures this weekend.

Happy Birthday France! You are an amazing and encouraging woman- Love you dearly!!

Sharon – who I could cuddle and squeeze the whole time cause I love her so much – and thank you for a great time at the airport together with your sweet hubs :) – and Evelien the amazing superwoman – she is an awesome host and organisator- thanks! BTW – NOOO we did not talk about the clothing for the photo shoot- LOL.

The amazingly talented Ingvild during one of her classes – she had really long classes- so we couldn’t spent much time together – but maybe next time :)

I had a lot of fun with my workshops and the students! I will retire my minialbum and Steampunk Class now – bye bye- it was fun – LOL

That’s it :) Have a gorgeous week you all – lot’s of sunshine !!!

Art Mesa Madrid 2012

Save the date:

Saturday, June 23th 2012

We will update the information about the workshops in a few days on our Art Mesa blog and you will have a new chance to win a spot in our workshops.

If you missed it last year, take a look at what others said about Art Mesa.

“If I’d have to define the day spent at ArtMesa  in one only word, that must be AMAZING in any way”. (Geles)

“Cuchy is so lovely. She spread joy and enthusiasm… We met Nathalie Kalbach, a “monster” of “mixedbook” or “scrapart”… she is super cool!!!… I could tell you a thousand more details. It’s been an intense day. I washed my hands 20 times and they’re still full of paint, but I love it!!” (Cecilia)

“I went to my first Mixed Media workshop and to be honest, my first workshop at ArtMesa and it’s been great. All that I learned from Nathalie is a whole new world for me. And without all logistics and organization from Cuchy -which workshop I had to miss- nothing would have been the same.” (Veronika)

Are you missing it?

Please notice that -for a more personal attention and for your own comfort- spots are limited.

We can’t wait to meet you again at Art Mesa Madrid 2012

Mixed Media Circus in Hamburg and NYC :)

Here are some infos on our upcoming Mixed Media Circus EventJulie and I are soo looking forward to our event here in Hamburg, Germany! We have students from Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain and The Netherlands and it is going to be a fun and creative event for sure. You can still save a spot – there are four seats left – the signups are closing on Friday September 30th, 2011.  More infos on the workshops here

But guess what? Part of the circus is traveling to New York City – The Big Apple – The City that never sleeps – Julie’s Home”town”.

We will teach together our class ” The Book of Techniques” on Saturday, October 22 (10am – 5pm with a 1hour lunch break).

Use this book as an art journal, scrapbook, or simply a beautiful reference for all of the cool techniques you’ll learn using gessogel mediumacrylic paint, andPanPastels.  These are some of our favorite supplies and we’ll teach you our favorite techniques using them!  We’ll create texture, play with simple resist techniques, and experiment with paint!  Not only will we share tons of techniques with you, but we will go over all sorts of useful information about these products and give you some easy do’s and don’ts for when you head home!

If you’re a technique junkie then this is the class for you!  Learn to push your supplies further and do more with less.  Plus Julie and I are quite the comedy duo – well actually Julie is funny – me not so much – I’m just laughing the whole time about her jokes ;)  — so there’s sure to be entertainment aplenty!

Class will be held in a private studio on the Upper West Side.  Julie will send you the address when you register over her side. The class costs are 85US$.

Please note that we are only taking twelve students.  (And we happen to know two girls have already booked their plane tickets from North Carolina :) So only ten spots left.)

Registration Information is here on Julie’s Blog – scroll down to the class :) .

I can’t wait to go :) ….but first up is Belgium tomorrow for the Scraptastic Event – looking forward seeing you all!

Rome Shadowbox

Here is another project I created for CHA with the Color Connections Companies. Rome wasn’t built in one day- but the project had to be.

I turned the wooden Walnut Hollow canvas around and used it as a shadow box. The Mistables Paper was painted with the Tattered Angels Walnut Hollow Color Pack – as well as the flowers, the title and the frame.

See the E…well I had to “fake” it since I didn’t reveice an E- LOL. I think I did pretty good ;) And you know I was sooo smart – I thought when I had the Rome idea- because in German it is just Rom…but then it dawned on me…wouldn’t fly well at CHA- everybody would think I’m not quite a spelling bee huh…?

Supplies: 12×12 Walnut Hollow Wooden Canvas, Pink Paislee Mistable paper, Tattered Angels Walnut Hollow Color Pack. Pink Paisle Mistables Chipboard Alphas, Pink Paislee Mistables Journaling Tags, Prima Innoscence Flowers.

Have a wonderful day :)

Euch einen wunderschönen Tag :)
