Layout: Wake Me Up *STM #102*

This week at Scrapping the Music we have a song by Green Day “Wake Me up when September ends” as  a tribute to Aleida- we  miss her a lot on our team and board. It has been a year since she passed away in this terrible car accident ever a reminder for me to live everyday!

“Wake me up when September ends”

Journaling: When  September comes, the days get shorter- the nature decides to slowly change and turns into darker color, I get melacholic. So many people I lost- so many I miss! It is the time to remember them! To remember change can be good – to remember life will always follow.

Supplies: 7Gypsies paper, Sassafrass Sticker Letters, Making Memories Paper, Prima Feltie, Acrylic Paint, .

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Ich kann es kaum erwarten Eure Werke zu sehen!

Project 365 – Week 35

Another summer week went buy – fun :)

Ein weitere Sommerwoche die vergangen ist :)

*236/365*

A healthy start with fresh fruits- making a smoothie

*237/365*

Love my anniversary sunflowers :)

*238/365*

Gängeviertel – nearby area. These old houses were bought by investors and might be demolished. Artist occupy them now and did some cool artwork inside.

*239/365*

Old factory – could be such a great gallery for artists – but I guess it is going to be demolished too.

*240/365*

Bought a new Spray Mask. Had the other one on and it was smelling of chemicals- no way I could use it again!

*241/365*

Again at the Gängeviertel- still not all open – but took a peek.

*242/365*

Finally the new pantry for my studio is up and waits to be filled and used :)

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Artists to Action – Gängeviertel in Hamburg

Not far from my neighborhood there is a little area that is called Gängeviertel. About 12 houses that are really old – some of the few left over in Hamburg of this construction. This area was the living area for the very poor workers and a couple years ago an investor bought those houses with the plan to demolish about 80% and build up something modern. But then they hadn’t had money and now for years those houses are just stand there empty, they rot and it looks as if some day those historic houses will be just demolished at all.

Last weekend about 200 artists – a lot of them art students – squated the houses and put installations, paintings, sculptures, spray art  – art in every imaginable way into the rooms of those houses. And finally the city started talking to them and right now it looks as if they can stay for a time and the rooms will be opened to the public in case they are safe.
