Diese Woche haben Daphne und ich uns dem Thema Farbe lösen – blöde Übersetzung – gewidmet und zwar mittels Vaseline.
This week Daphne and I worked on a Peel Paint technique with petroleum jelly.
Was man dafür braucht: Cardstock oder Leinwand, bei Cardstock Serviettenkleber oder GelMedium, Pinsel, Acrylfarben, Vaseline, Papiertücher, Spülmittel und Wasser.
What you need: Cardstock or canvas, if you use cardstock modpodge or gel medium, brush, acrylic paints, petroleum jelly, paper towels, soap and water.
Zunächst habe ich ein Stück Cardstock mit einer Acrylfarbe bemalt.
I painted a thin layer of paint onto cardstock.
Nachdem die Farbe getrocknet war, habe ich die Oberfläche mit Serviettenkleber versiegelt, damit die später aufgetragenen Vaseline nicht in das Papier einzieht.
After the paint was dried I sealed the surface with ModPodge to make sure that the petroleum jelly that will be applied later is not ruining the paper.
Wenn der Serviettenkleber wiederum getrocknet ist, an einigen Stellen eine dicke Schicht Vaseline auftragen.
After the sealer dried, apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly.
Auf diese Schicht wird nun das gesamte Papier mit einer weiteren Acrylfarbe bestrichen. Dabei soll die Farbe nicht in die Vaseline eingemischt werden, sondern die Farbe über die Vaseline drübergelegt werden.
Coat with another acrylic paint. Be sure to not mix the paint with the petroleum jelly – you want to flower over the jelly.
Nun muß diese Schicht Farbe ebenfalls trocknen. Nachdem dies geschehen ist, nimm ein Papiertuch und wische über das Papier – dabei wird die Farbe überall dort weggenommen, wo die Vaseline aufgetragen wurde.
Let this layer of paint dry. After this happened take a papertowel and rub over the paper – you will lift the color at those areas where you applied the petroleum jelly before.
Jetzt kommt der unangenehmste Teil, die überschüssige Vaseline entfernen. Ist aber kein großes Problem. Einfach eine Schüssel mit Wasser füllen und mit Spülmittel die Vaseline vorsichtig abwaschen.
Now the worst part comes, getting rid of the petroleum jelly on your surface. It isn’t a huge problem. Just take a bowl iwth water and some soap and carefully wash off the left over petroleum jelly.
Und fertig ist Dein Hintergrundpapier – die Textur die sich dabei ergibt ist wirklich bemerkenswert und cool – leider kann man dies auf dem Foto nicht so gut nachvollziehen.
And there you go – you have your backgroundpaper. The texture is awesome and cool – unfortunatley you can’t see it too good on the photo.
