What you want is not what you get…

“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.” – Albert Einstein

(I guess I didn’t learn the rules good enough!)

You know I had sworn myself to never whine about this – but …Even I have my goals and dreams in Scrapbooking. I do have this blog for 2 1/2 years and I show techniques and share my ideas and I like to share them. Even though I’m sad that sometimes I see some people using them as their own. But sometimes…only sometimes I want to reach a goal or fullfill a dream…like being in a special Designteam or teaching at a really cool Workshop. But somehow…nobody wants me. Others are just joining one team after the other – it seems as if they are just getting it. And just the fact that I’m writing about this shows how hurt I am. Oh well…

Genug des Selbstmitleids ;-)

Enough Selfpitty ;-)

*Before*

This is a layout from a trip in 2002 to Kauai, Hawaii. On this day when we went surfing I did not put enough sun protection on my back – my words “I’m half Italian – I never had a sunburn – I’m fine”.

Well – a day later I had to go to the Hospital with my first and worst sunburn EVER! (guess my front is the half italian side ;-) )

Journaling reads: Before…I managed to get my very first and worst and had to go to the hospital.

Supplies: Acrlic Paints and Pigments, Tim Holtz Stamp, Hambly Screen Print Overlays, Collage Press Paper, Every dot and title tags, buttons, foam pads.

    Hi Nat,

I know how you feel. I used to feel the same. In the end I came to the conclusion that the scrapbooking industry is only out there to make money not to teach people new artistic ways. To do this they are more likely to choose artists that appeal to the majority of the buying community. You just have to look at the magazines in Australia to realize this.

I hope this makes sense and doesn’t hurt anyones feelings. It is just the way I see it.

Needle Felting

Just a quick note that I translated the Needle Felting tutorial I did in August 2006 into English and added it to my Tutorial page. The Layout …wow…that is old ;-)

I will do this with the other only German tutorials one after the other.

Layout: My Life in Blanks

There are always those questionnaires for actors and other celebrites in the newspaper – and Ashley Wren had this idea to use this for a layout – I liked this!

Woman ATC

I was in a really good mood today…until….I cut myself with a scissor into my finger – don’t ask how? It is a nice triangle …it hurts and I’m grumpy now…let’s say Cranky!!!! Oh well – tomorrow is another day ;-)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

What a special day today …no no- not only because of Valentine’s Day – because my little godson Luca was born on this day 8 years ago. I totally remember this day. I had been in NYC and had the day vor myself. – we lived in Battery Park and I knew that this might be the day that Luca would be born. So when I was in the mall underneath the World Trade Center I went to a pay phone and called my friend in Germany and what a wonderful message!!! Later I was walking through NYC all warm and fuzzy – and there were all those hearts and flowers- and I thought- what a gorgeous decoration for my little godson ;-) . And in the evening after a wonderful dinner- Jim took me to the World Trade Center Restaurant and we enjoyed the beautiful and breathtaking view. Oh yes…this was a very special day!

Ich wünsche Euche einen wunderbaren…romantischen Tag ;-)

I wish you a wonderful…romantic day ;-)

Hybrid Card

I love the mix between computer and handgenerated elements in layouts and cards :-) This is a card I created for Daphne. Did you scrap hybrid so far and if so how?
