Sometimes you meet those people- they sparkle because they are such a gem in our live. Even though I have never met her personally, Aleida grew very dear to my heart. I loved our email conversations and our work together at Scrapping the Music and It Takes All Kind.Today this diamond was taken away – but she is still sparkling in my heart.

Heute morgen waren Liz und ich in der Mark Rothko Ausstellung in der Kunsthalle hier in Hamburg. Beeindruckend! Die Tiefe der Bilder – man geht darin verloren – und die Farben sind einfach unglaublich.
This morning Liz and I had been to the Mark Rothko Exhibition in the Kunsthalle in Hamburg. Really impressing! those photos are so deep – you get lost in them – and the colors are unreal!
Schön, dass wir noch andere gemeinsame Interessen außer Scrapbooking haben ;-)

LOL… niles is so funny. love the big expedit…. but wasn’t it a pain to put together. I HATE that part.
LOL – echt jetzt- das war ein richtiges Wirbelwind Wochenende. Freitag abend habe ich mein monströses Holzregal ausgerämt…oh man – was hatte sich da für ein Mist angesammelt. Dann Samstag morgen ging es erstmal mit einigen Nachbarn ans Ausmisten der Keller und zum Recyclinghof und hiernach mit Freunden zum Großeinkauf im Italienischen Supermarkt. Dann schön Pizza essen und ab zu Ikea. Bei Ikea im Schnelldurchlauf mein neues Regal gekauft: Expedit – YEAH!. Nach Hause- das Teil in den 318. Stock schleppen und zum Schanzenfest. Wunderbar.
LOL – really- that was such a whirlwind weekend. Friday evening I looked at my huge disheveled wooden shelf and cleared it out – oh boy- I can’t believe how much stuff was piling up. Saturday morning some neighbors and we cleared out our cellars (in Germany you have either and attic or a cellar room for extra stuff to store) and drove to the recycling center (the city has several recycling yards where you drive by and you can bring your computers, old furnitures, old paints etc.) Afterwards we picked up some friends and went to a huge Italian Supermarket and got bonkers shopping – LOL – and of course we all had a huge pizza. And then – IKEA. Running through the halls, picking up my new shelf: Expedit -YEAH. Driving home- schlepping the shelf up to the 318th floor -and leaving for the Schanzenfest (A yearly happening street festival two streets away). Awesome.

And just before the yearly riots started at the street festival we went home and put together the shelf- Oh boy- Ikea makes me crazy sometimes! gggrr!
Heute dann nach einem langen Frühstück rauf aufs Fahrrad und ein wenig durch die Stadt gefahren um das Radrennen anzuschauen. Christian, der dabei war, war leider nicht zu sehen- LOL
Then after a nice long breakfast with the bicycle through the city to watch the Cyclassics. Christian who was racing to – was not to see – LOL

Und dann ging es zur Messe Eat’n Style– für die wir Freikarten bekommen hatten. War total nett- ich bin ja eigentlich nicht so ein Messefan – aber die kleinen Fresstände waren recht nett und plötzlich bekamen wir auch noch für eine Kochshow mit Sarah Wiener Freikarten – und schwupps saßen wir im Studio – LOL.
And then we went to the Eat’n Style convention as we got some free tickets. It was really nice. I’m not a huge fan of conventions- but the little yummie food stands were really nice and all of a sudden we got some free tickets for a cooking show with Sarah Wiener – and at one fell swoop we found ourself in a studio – LOL

Unglaublich, der Sommer ist dieses Wochenende zurückgekehrt. Wir haben gestern eine schöne Radtour gemacht und waren bei meiner Freundin Antje zur Sommerparty im Garten. Es war zauberhaft und entspannend :-)
Wowsers- the summer came back full force this weekend. We did a nice bicycle tour yesterday and headed out to my friend Antje wo had a summer party in her garden. It was magic and relaxing :-)

my name is NatHalie Kalbach and I’m pretty sure you have no idea who I am. Well – I won’t bore you with some facts about my overly under appreciated scrapbooking skills (lol). Let me just tell you the fact that I’m a person who fights for the right spelling of her name since elementary school . I have school reports, certificates, newspaper clips, IDs and other important documents with my name spelled wrong – and let me assure you – it had been a hassle sometimes with authorities. I have seen a lot of different takes on my name…and there is always an H missing. Natalie, Natali, Nataly. I have no clue why my poor H is so being so neglected.
I know, I know- if you even read till here you might wondering why Im telling you this. I will come to the point.
When I opened your August issue I saw this
My first thought was… ah …another international Nat…then I thought…oh…Kalbach – and then it dawned on me…you meant me. I was torn between the mournig for the missing H and the happiness for this second time I got the Nod.
So here is the deal…I would be really ok with an missing H if you would just publish me once- really! I mean – that is a compromise, don’t you think?
Well…one can hope ;-)
