Love it! Forwarding this immediately to my hubby, who is outside with his computer and his designing partner. They are having a ball, watching a bunch of videos, and I KNOW nothing is getting done on the project they got together to focus on! Lol!

At the end it says something about a kit and I could think of was how creative I would be if I had THAT kit. Silly me, I have more supplies here then the average small store…I just need to use them!!!

The Future belongs to the Curious

I think that is so true- if you loose your curiosity life gets bland – another wonderful video I would love to share with you

[vimeo 34853044 w=400 h=300]

What are you curious about lately? :)

As a scientist by trade, and at heart, I am curious about so, so many things! Lately my curiosity has been focused within: Who am I, and what do I want my life to look like? How would I like to spend my days, and can that be molded into a new career and contribute to the financial support of my family?

    A great, thought-provoking video!

Curious video. I did not hear sound and then realized that maybe it didn’t have it for a reason (made me watch more intently anyway).
I am curious about what foods I will like to eat (after being diagnosed with diverticulitis) and how our trip to Washington, D.C. will go in July. I expect to take tons of photos and get lots of inspiration.

Default Earworm or Lost in Translation

A catchy tune in German is called an Earworm – literally translated. Meaning you can’t stop singing the song in your head. I actually like the word – you say Ohrwurm :)

Such an Ohrwurm I shared in my Über*Media Acrylic Paint Online Workshop in the 3rd lesson published monday (you can sign up anytime – but right now you join in real-time over the next weeks).

It is by Django Django and called Default – a song I can’t get out of my head and I love the video!

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/35527420]

What’s your Ohrwurm right now?

Have a wonderful catchy tuned day ;)

My current earworms (and yes – I use that term too!) are “Somebody that I Used to Know” by Gotye, “I’m the One that’s Cool” by The Guild, and “I’m an Imagineer” by The Imagineers.

The graffiti in your area is very different from what we get around here. In my area, it’s nothing more than vandalism and an eyesore – there’s no art in it at all.

Creative JumpStarter reinvents the Big Shot

Some of you JumpStarters may have seen the amazing video by my spanish friend Cuchy in which she shows how to create a great textured paper plate made out of toilet paper.

One of Cuchy’s main tools for this techniques is a Big Shot. Now what do you do if you have no Bigshot? You…think out of the box like our JumpStarter Anje – The Crafty Cone – …check it out…it is awesome and too funny!

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOPOKg6ldVc]

Thank you Anje so much for sharing!!!!

If you haven’t seen the original video by Cuchy,  check it out on her blog.

I so love it! It is so fun to see what all the JumpStarters are getting inspired to do with the videos and posts from the Creative JumpStart !

Speaking of Spain….ha …LOL –

On June 23rd, 2012  Cuchy aka Carmen and I are having our second Art Mesa Workshop Event in Madrid.

I will teach my Embrace the Possibilities Workshop.

Embrace the possibilities. Mixed media workshop – Altered art.
Nathalie Kalbach – Saturday june 23rd, 2012 – 10.00 hs.

There are many ways to have your artwork on display.

In this 4 hour class with Nathalie Kalbach you will create a pillow case as one of the centerpieces of your home decoration.

Transfer beautiful Scrapbooking Paper and use Tattered Angels Paint Media, Acrylic Paints, lot’s of other media and Stamping Techniques to achieve unique texture and a one of a kind Mixed Media Project.

All techniques can be easily applied to future Scrapbooking and Mixed Media Projects.

Embrace the Possibilities and let’s have a creative pillow fight.

—————————————————————————————-

Embrace the possibilities. Taller mixed media – Altered art.

——–

And here is Cuchy’s Workshop:

Alter yourself! Mixed media workshop – Altered art
M. Carmen Sánchez – Cuchy – Saturday June, 23rd 2012 – 16.00 hs.

We’ll create an altered object which holds a variety of ATC’s with lots of techniques, that we’ll make also in the class.
Among the “dirty” materials we’re going to use, we have candles, patterned tissue paper, film plastic, embossing powders, acrylics, folders and dies for BigShot, bubble wrap… we’re going to iron our supplies (yes, with the iron you use at home), and as always, we will get dirty.

——

¡Altérate!. Taller mixed media – Altered art.

—————

Check it out on our Art Mesa Blog

Looking forward seeing you there :)

hugs

Nat
