Why a StandUp Bass? Well…that is what I see when I walk into my husband’s music room next to my studio. I love this instrument. It is massive and beautiful and I love the sound of it too. I thought it can represent so many things like music, art, harmony, it is a good birthday card theme etc.

Here is what I created for today:

NatKalbach_StandupBass11

This is a gift card holder. I created it using two manila tags and here is how:

NatKalbach_StandupBass01

Starting with Tag 1

NatKalbach_StandupBass02

After you used the chalk through the stencil on tag one- you have a lot of access of chalk on top of the stencil

and here is the other side of the gift card holder after spicing it up with some fun stamps etc.

Beautiful card. I have never used liquid chalk, need to try it out. Did you put a fixative on the pas pastel before you proceeded? Thanks so much for sharing. I would love to win this stencil.

This makes me want to run to the store right now to get some fluid chalk. I love the stand up bass because a close friend is a professional jazz bass player. He tours all over the world and always sends us postcards. I’d love to make a postcard for him with this stencil. Thanks for the inspiration!

Love the way you used the stencil offset to give the bass depth. Great idea.
