I had the Hex Set Small and Solid Hex Small rubber stamps printed on a different piece of old ledger paper and I cut it out to paste into this one, turning around some pieces to show the writing on the other side.
I used the ATC Mixup stencil to trace some patterns with a Signo Gel Pen and realized that the pattern fit perfectly into the hexagon openings so there you have it! LOL
“Ultimately all the puzzle pieces fell together… they always do!”
I used the stamp kissing technique with this art journal spread – inking up my Solid Hex Small stamp, then pressing a patterned stamp (here my Grannies, Star Fish, and Blocks stamps) into it to remove ink, and then stamping the hex onto my paper. It’s a great way to use solid and patterned or textured stamps together.
Oh look who showed up to give his kitty inspection? Pretzel always likes to get involved in the studio lol
I tiled up a pattern using plain Solid Hex Small stamps with teal ink and then went back into some with the stamp kissing in black ink.
I love that the stamp kissing gives a bit of grungy effect – almost looks like static on an old black and white tv or an old pixelated photocopy.
To finish it off I did my journaling with Winsor Newton fine liners.
Here are some of the supplies I used:
And I hope you join me on Wednesday October 16th at 3pm EST for a Kaffeeklatsch chat on Facebook! I’ll be broadcasting live from my new studio and catching up with you on everything that’s been going on around here :) Stop by and say Hello!!!
“Always remember we are under the same sky looking at the same moon”
The background started with some mono printing with a gelli plate. I had taken off the magenta acrylic paint with my Hexagon Foam stamps.
I added the beautiful washi tape with the moon and stars . The blue paper is actually a strip of scrapbooking paper which I created for a french Company many many years ago.
I also used my differently sized Hexagon Rubberstamps and stamped with white onto the background. Love how this came together. Here are some of the supplies I used:
I wanted to share this art journal spread I created using my new Clam Hex Foam Stamp in detail. I stamped the alternating the direction up and down in every row. I just love how versatile this stamp is and how many different patterns you can create with it.
For the numbers I used my letterpress wood stamps and inked them up with different ink, then rubbed a piece of paper on it, cut it out and pasted it with gel medium into the art journal.

I love the simplicity of the geometric look to this. Beautiful and life IS a puzzle!
