I made this card for my trainer Kim at the gym. We had a little surprise party for her since she is leaving and we all had a great time with her. In fact…she was a great motivator and kept me sane right after I moved from Germany. She is a big reason for being able to deal with homesickness a lot…having a daily goal to go to the gym and socializing with her and other neighbors has been good for me. Glad I will still see her though for kickboxing workout (yeah man…LOL…I am doing it …it is good for me ;) )
The saying on the card is actually by my trainer- I love that one…it can be adapted to many other things too ;)
It was a pretty big card…we all had to sign…while eating bagels, cream cheese and biscuits…hello carbs and love handle adding food – LOL :)
Here is what I used for the card
Have a gorgeous day

FAntastic Page!
What screws us up most in life…it’s the picture in our head of how it is supposed to be
-unknown source-
This is so true- in so many ways! When you create art or in your every day life.
Loving the colors and texture here -gesso – such a great medium to cover parts up and make everything more interesting. Love me some Gesso :)
Wishing you a wonderful day…with our without a picture in your head ;)
Nat
Isn’t that the truth?!!! Started along time ago when TV told us this is how real life is….
now it’s hard to unlearn that! Great post Nat!
This quote could be my mantra for goodness sake.
I get my idea of what life “should” be and get disappointed when it’s not.
I continue to work on gracefully accepting what life “is” and embracing that and forgetting the preconceived notions that my mind had issued.
Love this piece, Nat..truer words were never spoken!!
Fantastic AJ!
“Slowly learning that there cannot be a constant go go go….
there needs to be stops in order to be able to harvest more!”
An art journal is a good source for reminding yourself on some things….I might have to revisit LOL. If you have been in one of my recent classes you have seen the beginning of many of my art pages – I often demo in my art journal certain techniques and then turn those pages later into a finished spread. I should do a before and after picture session to show you :)
Love the color combo here – green, dark purple, pink and yellow.
what is your favorite color combination lately?
Have a great day
Nat
Awesome job Natalie!
Fantastic page!
Nat, what a fabulous spread! I absolute love the message and your color combo is out of this world Delish!! Thanks for bringing it home! Hugs
That crackle stencil is on my wish list at Stencil Girl. Love the texture that it gives. I’ve been using a lime green, purple and golden rod color combo a bit here.
I do love this quote by Robert Frost:
In three words, I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life:
It goes on!
In my head I do know that…I just wish I would remember to feel that way every time something stupid happens ;) I think it is interesting though that oftentimes I set my heart on something, be disappointed when it doesn’t work out and then in retrospective I look at it as “oh good thing that didn’t happen!” I am a very positive thinking person but boy do I pout and scull if things do not work out- LOL.
Are you the same or are you good in shrugging obstacles in life off?
Have a gorgeous day
Nat
Hi Nat, love reading your blog & seeing your work. You crack me up sometimes! Especially today where in your list of items used you included your finger! Too funny! Hope you are enjoying living here in the states now. I hope to someday make it to NY & meet you & Julie. If you ever want to come visit Florida I would be happy to have you stay at my house! I live in Cape Coral which is next to Ft. Myers which is on the FL west coast south of Orlando.
Dahlink….do you mean pout and scowl?? This may be my new mantra…Life goes on ….not pout and scowl!!
hahahha…yeah I guess I mean scowl ;)
I love the yellow color, this one of my favorites pages!
THose words are so true and I to forget and throw a fit now and then that life is not going the way I want it to be. Then I have to remind myself that I am here to serve and that he knows better then me where my life is suppose to go and when I really look to see what is happening it is an amazing day and I am in an amazing place!
I expect things to be a certain way and when they’re not I get disappointed. I pout for a bit but then realize that everything happens for a reason and life will indeed go on. Lovely quote to use on an art journal page Nat. I especially like the pink in the lower left corner as it brings “hope” to the page.
I might have gone insane with the background- but I love it …and somehow it comes all together with the image and quote :)
I might also long for spring…hence the colors! :) I promise – as soon as the weather gets better I stop pouting…I look like my art journal girl – LOL
Here are the stamps and supplies I used:
Have a beautiful day
Nat
I love it- even with your pouty face!
Nice. I love the saying. It is so hard not to become furious with people who simply refuse to acknowledge, let alone accept, that today’s world is not the same as decades past. But the anger served no good purpose. Well if you have very low blood pressure, then it helps.
What do you think of the Liquitex paint markers? I just saw them for the first time last week. I’m intrigued.
Love the energy of this page! And I am feeling your pain about this endlessly miserable Winter. On the bright side, you were able to express it on the page and that is GREAT! If we chant loud enough, “come on SPRING!” maybe it’ll get here sooner.
Peace,
Donna
I love this page. It screams anger! The red and the stamped images are just perfect for the page.
Gorgeous spread!
One of the things that make me really giddy is when I spy someone using my new stamps by Stampendous or also my Stencils with StencilGirl Products So I thought once in a while I would feature the work of those wonderful talented people with a new Series called: designed by n*Studio features:…..
And today I feature: Cheiron Brandon
Cheiron has been stamping and making cards since she took her first card making class in 2004. She has been published in Paper Crafts Magazine and teaches card making classes at The Ink Pad in NYC and One Little Spark in Little Egg Harbor, NJ . Recently she has started art journaling and loves mixing those techniques into her cards. By day, she works in the financial district and loves coming home at night to relax at her craft table. She lives in New Jersey with her husband Paul and their adorable rescue dog Big Boy.
And here are Cheiron’s amazing cards using my stamps and what she wrote about them:
I am always looking for different ways to use my stamps and I thought it would be fun to use them on cards. For the first one, I used the shapes to create a landscape to fit my tiny house. The circle became a “sun”, the dots “clouds” and the mesh type stamp was stamped in two different greens to create the “grass”. I used the stencils that come with the stamp sets to create the patterned paper that I cut the house out of.
For the second card I used the burlap stamp and embossed it with some tan embossing powder. It is the perfect stamp to ground an object on a card without adding a lot of bulk. The little heart was cut out of some scraps that I had made into a collage.
If you have done something with my stamps or stencils I would sure love to see
Here are the n*Studio Product Cheiron used:
Have a wonderful day!
hugs
Nat
I love the burlap stamp and the embossing idea. I just added to my list! So happy to see your new products. Best of luck!
Fabulous collection especially the second one, I love that gold texture in the background
As you know Nathalie, I lOVE LOVE LOVE your roulette, round stamp…..it is so versatile, as we see by the card above….I never would have thought to use it as a sun!! Too cool! Thanks for introducing a new artist, great idea by the way……TTFN
Love Cheiron’s creations! So much texture and detail! I have to say my favorite is the heart card. The burlap stamp on the teal paper is amazing! Just beautiful!
Love these cards! Such a cool mix of textures! I’ve been eyeing these stamps at my local store- I think I’ll have to pick them up next time I’m there!
Great cards and I love the burlap stamp. It’s on backorder at the Stampendous web site. Are your stamps available anywhere else?
Thanks…
Connie C.
Hi Connie- here is a link ot my page where I listed the stores that I know of that carry my stamps :) http://www.nathaliesstudio.com/resume/nstudio-stencils/ I hope that helps.
Nat
Loving these cards, what a great range of possibilities! The scene created on the first is so sweet, especially love how she created the sun, and I just LOVE that burlap stamp on the second. The last really is a work of art!
Wow! Cheiron’s cards are amazing!! I love the different techniques she used. I’m off to pin that awesome heart/burlap one!
I love all three of these cards, Cheiron! Just wow. Each one has such amazing detail and creativity!!
These are awesome!!! I love the middle one super tons!
Great stamps and so versatile!
Love how she made it a sun. Nice and bright for a long winter.
I want this stamps!
Encrusted Shrubbery is a Canvas I did for CHA for the Stampendous booth using my stamps but it is also a new workshop for the next couple of months – it is so much fun do do!
I will leave you with just a couple pictures of the canvas today – hope you like it :)
I will also teach this workshop among others at the CREATE Mixed Media Retreat in New Jersey – so thrilled to be part of it :)
Have a gorgeous day

P.S. I have been pretty sick last week coming at a really bad time with one of my best friends visiting from Germany and having a workshop. I tried to tackle all…but… – I know some of you are waiting for emails and I also have to take care of the giveaway winners for CJS- it will all come- no worries but I am happy for your understanding that sometimes life or the flu just gets in the way :)
So sorry you are poorly, get better very quickly. Fabulous canvas. x
Hope you are feeling better…flu is in America USA, almost everywhere!…tomorrow is another day…dont worry!
Ugh :-( Hope you are starting to feel better. Busy and sick at the same time sucks…
I do love this canvas. Love all the texture and metal. So very cool. Aw, so sorry you’ve been sick. Fix yourself a Hot Toddy – Lemon Juice, Honey, and a good shot of Whisky! If it doesn’t rid the bug, at least you’ll feel better wink wink. Spring and warmer weather is on the horizon. Thank goodness.
Love this, such great color and texture!! Please come to Create – West Coast xx
Gabrielle
I especially like the colors and the metal embellies on your canvas Nat.
Take care of yourself and get some rest, the other stuff can wait.
This canvas is so cool!! Love all the texture. Take care of yourself!
I love the canvas with your stamps, and all the details. It looks great!
This was an art journal page I created in California last month.
The journaling says:
Wear it, you own it…don’t hide – time is to short to not embrace the bright things in life!
It actually sprung out of the feeling how hard it is as a woman to embrace success or things we are proud of to have accomplished. Usually because we fear that other people would take us as arrogant …It is the same with us when we got something cool to wear. Are you like me when you get a compliment about your clothing for example and say: “oh that thing…yeah…it was a) really cheap though b) it is soooo old though . How about we wear our success/nice clothes once in a while and say just “Thank You” and embrace it without a guilty feeling? I mean…do we really have to be a downer to ourselves all the time if there is enough people out there that keep us down? LOL- just saying ;)
By the way…I think my lady in my art journal really wears it- LOL- what do you think ? ;)
have a wonderful day!
huge hugs
nat
Awesome page! Love the colours and the stamping in the background. And your lady certainly wears it! Thanks for the inspiration! I added some new acrylics to my collection the other day thanks to you and CJS.
I especially like the lady’s shirt design. And yes, it is hard to just say thanks without an excuse about how it’s no big deal. I am famous for saying “oh this…it was on sale at (fill in the blank) like it somehow means that I don’t look good in it.
Nat , your lady sure is wearing it! and Thank you! For the great words of wisdom- I know just what you are saying and from that – I will embrace makes next time compliment with a nice “Thank You” and leave it at that! hugs Jackie
ps–loooove the colors on this spread!!
Wow Nathalie, gorgeous page, and your lady is lovely I love the color combos she is wearing!
