Sharing Space – Art Journal

“You don’t have to be the same to share a space.”

I stamped out a background pattern with my Fantastic Small, Small Circle Jumble, and Fanfare stamps. I used a pencil eraser for some dots in between.

I sketched the figure right on the page with ink and pencil and then filled in with gouache and watercolor.

Is it Worth it? – Art Journal

“Is is worth questioning yourself by comparing yourself to others?” Never! Such a hard lesson to learn that I continue to work on. How about you?

I used my Art Deco Summit Stencil and then painted my figure over it with acrylic paints and adding black gesso surrounding her.

My quote I did in gold and white acrylic markers.

New Lines – Art Journal

“She couldn’t keep her colors inside the lines, so she drew new lines.” This time of year always gets me thinking about new lines :)

I used my new Space Age Modern stencil in the background along with acrylic paint and the topper stamp from my Large Circle Jumble set.

Also a bit of collage in here with papers that I used with my Kyoto stencil, Signals stencil, my Numerals stamp, and my Brownstone stamp. Lots of layers and lots to look at.

My quote is also collaged in – mixed media tissue paper from Dina Wakley.

Fantastic Bad Ideas – Art Journal

“I think my problem is that I have many fantastic bad ideas!” – but I guess that is better than no ideas lol

For my background I used acrylic paint and my new Space Age Modern stencil, along with collage material from old gelli prints.

There is a hand carved stamp in there and then my figure on deli paper with ink. I used acrylic markers for the journaling.

I’m enjoying your blog. I’ve already registered for jumpStart. On January 1, 2020, where do I find the program. Attached to your blog? Site of it’s own? Have not seen that, a supplies needed or curriculum. Have I missed these somewhere?
I’m excited about seeing this faculty!!!!!

Path – Art Journal

“There is no path. The path is made by walking.” Time to get out there and blaze some new ones :)

For this I used Liquitex and Golden paints with my new Kyoto stencil. I love this color combination of a warm background and then a nice cool pattern on top – really makes things pop.

I used a pencil eraser dipped in paint for the dots (a good trick) and a Fude pen for my journaling.

End of Story – Art Journal

“You can! End of story…” – one of those things that is always helpful to remind ourselves :)

I made a background with Holbein Goauche and Holbein ink and my new Art Deco Empire stencil.

Then I used Graphik Line Painters from from Derwent to color my Actually I Can stamp in and add some stuff to the journaling, and stencil.

Not for Everyone – Art Journal

“Better never means better for everyone… It always means worse for some!” – an interesting quote from The Handmaid’s Tale which I have read several decades ago and also watched now the show.

For my background I used my new Art Nouveau Wallpaper stencil along with a blending tool, Ranger Distress and Distress Oxides Inks. I love how these inks blend so nicely and they are a wonderful companion to stencils.

I added my quote and this sketch with a Fude pen and sumi Ink.
