Workshops at The Queen’s Ink in Maryland & Giveaway Winner

kalbachqueenscollage

I had such a wonderful time in Maryland at The Queen’s Ink last weekend.

kalbachqueens02

The Queen’ s Ink is an amazing store located in a historic mill and the classroom has gigantic windows giving a wonderful light.

kalbachqueens03

The first class was a an altered book class and it was wonderful to see how the students interpreted the techniques to fit into their own books and styles.

kalbachqueens04

Isn’t this fun?

kalbachqueens06

Patti, the owner of The Queen’s Ink and master of colorful and beautiful Mixed Media projects herself worked on some beautiful Ampersand Stampboards using my Stampendouds Elephant, Bird and Urban Scribble stamp set. So love it!

kalbachqueens15

The students were so much fun and I loved seeing some familiar faces and also to meet some students which I have known for a long time from my online classes – you guys are the best!

kalbachqueens08

Lot’s of yummie pattern play in the collage class

kalbachqueens10

the collages were so different and fun and colorful!

kalbachqueens11

hey …little birdie!

And I know it is dorky- but it was so fun to see my stamps and stencils displayed in the store. Still a pinch me moment!

On the second day I taught my Artvergnugen class and we exhilarated layers :)

Workshops at The Queen’s Ink in Savage, Maryland Oct 21-22

This year I have taken a big break from teaching due to the book, and I do have to say I really missed teaching. I had a fantastic time at The InkPad with a 2Day workshop on the weekend – here is a little peek of what we did and the new fun things we used. I will post more pix in a couple days. It was wonderful to spent time with super creative and fun students, see my new products in action and be equally inspired by my students and how they put their own spin on things!

Now I am getting ready for my classes at The Queen’s Ink in Savage, Maryland in two weeks. I am bringing three super fun workshops with me, which I have taught before and were a big hit – I cannot wait to spice them up with some super duper cool ArtFoamies and …did you spy them? – new stencils. There are still a couple seats left – so join me if you are in the area!

Europe Workshop Tour- Part 8 – De Craftorij Workshops in The Netherlands

NatKalbach_Craftorij01

After a couple days of relaxing, Birgit and I went down from the North of The Netherlands to Ede to teach at the De Cratorij Retreat. We had such a great time. We taught the same workshops as in Finland – a Mono printing Class together on saturday and then each of us an art journaling class on sunday.

Thank you so much to Liquitex for supplying all the acrylic media for my Europe Workshop tour! That was amazing!

NatKalbach_Craftorij05

Lia brought a lot of her store supplies to the hotel and it was pretty thrilling to see all those stamps and stencils of mine at one place – wowsers.

You know what strikes me the most about seeing all your European Tour pictures Nat????? The fact that people all over the world “create” in the same way… doing the same things… smiling and forgetting their cares – loving one another. That probably seems like a strange thing for me to say but when you hear about all the challenges in this world every day – it’s just so refreshing to see how you went all over Europe and spread joy and love and paint! I love your art – you know how much I do. But I also love that you are such a wonderful Ambassador/Mentor/Teacher that can hold hands and love us all – worldwide… sharing, caring and giving across the world… what a great legacy Nat. I so admire you. Big hugs and big thanks…j.

As always my sweet friend Cuchy rocked the organization, translated my workshop and held her own workshop – what a trooper and amazing friend she is !!!

Trying to learn Finnish or … Europe Tour is coming up!

I cannot believe I am leaving for my little Europe tour already in  1 1/2 weeks. I am so excited.

paintsliquitex

All the paints are shipped and waiting for us (thanks to Liquitex for all the help!!!), a new suitcase is ordered after the last one broke on the trip to Oklahoma and I am starting to think of the temperatures in the different places I will be …from super hot to …maybe a bit cold ;)

First stop will be Madrid, Spain on May 30th for Cuchy and my 4th Art Mesa Mixed Media Event !

There are still some spots available- so if you are in the area :) – Sign up and join us!

Then I will stop over in Germany for a couple days to visit my loved ones in my old home :) I am so looking forward to see my peeps and I have a whole list of what I want to eat and where I want to go and…oh wait..I only have 3 days…mhhh !

Next stop is Turku, Finland June 6&7 for Matka Luovuuteen together with my friend Birgit Koopsen.

There are only 2 more seats available- so if you are in the area- come and join us!

After Finland I will spent some time with Birgit in her home in The Netherlands …we have creative fun plans! Maybe instead of just chatting we will actually even paint together- we will see ;)
And last but not least a stop in Ede, The Netherlands on June 13&14 for the De Craftorij Retreat 2015

There are still a couple seats left and you can sign up for Saturday, Sunday or both days!

Working on getting everything ready on time – and trying to learn some new words ….like:

  • Leikkuualusta askarteluveitsen kanssa käytettäväksi

This means Cutting Mat in Finnish …I think I will fail this language …off to learn Cutting Mat in Dutch and Spanish – maybe I am better there – I am sure I will make a fool of myself trying – LOL

DOEI (that means Bye in Dutch …one of the few words I know!) – have a gorgeous day!

Oh myyyy Nat – I would never have the courage to do what you are doing even if I were as fit as a fiddle as in my younger years! I’m such a home body! But… I totally admire you for going and know – without a doubt – that everyone is looking forward to you arriving and teaching and hugging. IT WILL ALL BE SUPER FINE in every way. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. HAVE FUN… and bring back lots of pictures!!! Can’t wait to see them. j.

Our precious grandchildren were here this week and we only see them once a year due to expense etc so I am behind leaving my comment this week! Having too much fun playing in a different way! Although two of them did do a journal page – woooo whoooo!!! BUT… just a note to tell you Nat that I just LOVED seeing all these pics from your workshops in Canada. WOW – it looks like everyone did some wonderful work and were having so much fun. Lots of smiling going on. You are so sweet to include so many pictures. I just looked and looked at them. So many different creations and colors and combinations. I know they all just loved having you there. Thank you so much for bringing it home to us! j.
