Blog: Video

“Why is it important to know what I am doing when I am older?”

This video about 94 year old painter Hy Snell made me laugh (What’s an abstract?) and cry at the same time- beautiful video – and so many great things are being said in here:

“I am 94 and 1/2 years old and I am still painting wonderful pictures”…what is not to love about this! ?

Hugs

Nat

Thanks for the video, Nat! That men reminded me of my dad. He was still dancing three days before he fell sick and passed away three months after that. He was 99 yo, just five months short of his 100th birthday. He taught me to always laugh at life. I can hardly wait to see him again!

Life Drawing at the Book Club

I loved this video by Wriggles & Robbins – so much fun to see the drawings from different angles and also come to live.

Attention: This 1 minute video contains nude-drawings. If you have a problem with this, you might be better off looking at something else :) . Don’t email me to complain, don’t visit my blog anymore because I might post things like this again and I really don’t care if you have a problem with this and for sure do not let your kids watch this if it is a problem for you!

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Have a gorgeous day

hugs

Weckruf (Wake-Up Call) or…A FAST Forward Making off a Canvas

The image of this window with some landmarks of Hamburg kept coming up when I was sketching things in my art journal and on my iPad. So I figured it was time to finally just put it on a canvas.

Weckruf_NatKalbach_Blog01

Here is a FAST Forward Movie of the Making off (it is not a step by step tutorial- although most steps are extensively in there ;) ) – I hope you enjoy it. I have a List of all Supplies used below

I had lot’s of fun playing with the new Liquitex Professional Paint Markers – loved that there are so many ways to use them and the colors are just to die for .

nSupplies

and
24cmx30cm Canvas
Loads of old Book Paper

Weckruf_NatKalbach_Blog03

I have some other ideas for this image – color wise etc…so you might see this coming up again in a different look :)

Would you like to see more fast-foward videos in the future?

Have a wonderful day :)

Creative JumpStart 2013!!!!

CJSLogo_500

Here we go again.  I am so so so excited :)

After last year’s success of Creative JumpStart I decided to organize it again. We had about 4.500 subscribers last year!  It was so much fun! So here is the scoop about it:

January is approaching–a month that is full with promises, resolutions and intentions. A month that for many is following lots of holiday celebrations, family gatherings and other end-of-the-year events.

It’s also time to start creating again. But suddenly there it is for some of us: that lost feeling on how to start. Here is the cure :)

I invited a group of wonderful, inspiring and creative ladies and gentlemen from around the globe in the mixed media and scrapbooking world to join together for the Creative Jump Start Summit 2013. We are coming together to show you some ways to get back into the creative groove and how to get your creative juices flowing. We want to share with you “3 Ways to …” help you jump-start your creativity in 2013.

Let me show you who is participating:

[vimeo 56193517 w=400 h=300]
Here’s what you get and how it works:

  • 1. Throughout January we will share videos showing tutorials to inspire you –
  • 2. You sign up for the Creative JumpStart 2013 newsletter HERE and, in January 2013, you will receive  a daily link and password to unlock the view of the materials as soon as they go live
  • 3. On some days our Sponsors will have a giveaway for you and you will receive two newsletters these days
  • 4. You watch the presentations and you will be hopefully inspired to be more creative—all for FREE! If you like it you can donate to the cause – check it out here.

So come on—get inspiration from some of the most creative people in the community. Only 11 more days till we start :)

What are you waiting for? (Did I mention it’s FREE?)

Nat

DT Work: Welcome to the Neighborhood *InfoCrea*

When I first saw the Maison de fees papers I knew what I would like to do with them. A wallhanging. For the base I used the corrugated cardstock from the Couleur de Artiste Collection- man that quality is serously the bomb! NO kidding!

Echt!
